The article I am presenting this week is entitled
Article 3: Offenses Related
To Traffic Devices.
It is related to our topic "car culture activities" because an activity many of us in our culture have to do, related to driving, is go to court (if we get cited for a moving violation). It helps to brush up every so often, not only when we need to renew our licenses, on all the traffic devices out there. All the rules and regulations in regard with anything that has to do with violations of traffic devices in Indiana is listed. What I found so unique about the article is the preciseness in which everything is stated. For example: "Whenever traffic is controlled by official traffic control signals showing different colored lights, or colored lighted arrows, successively, one at a time, or in combination, only the colors green, yellow, and red shall be used, except for pedestrian control signals, and those lights shall indicate and apply to drivers of vehicles and pedestrians as provided in this chapter". See Article 3: Offenses Related To Traffic Devices.
The main idea in traffic psychology is awareness to ourselves, to those around us, and to our environment. Brushing up can only help us to become more aware of the various types of traffic devices in our "driving environment". Perhaps this article will make some of pay more attention to the devices out there?
The search engine I used in locating my article for this weeks report is called Metacrawler. The unique thing about Metacrawler is that it combines several search engines to do a more complete search. I was introduced to Metacrawler by another student named Lori Morita. She is doing a report on the different types of search engines located on the Internet. See Metacrawler.
