Route to Soliman Valdez team 1 report
During this first week of "Surfing the Net" I was amazed to find so many things out there and so many locations waiting to be explored. This was the very first time that I had ever attempted to "Surf" and so far there's just a "rush" to see what is out there.
When it comes to computers, well, I'm about as compatible with a computer as cereal is with beer(ooh...beeeeer). I knew that I needed a little help from my friends in order to get on to the right track so I asked for help. Luckily, my team mates were willing to give me a jump start so I could get on with the search.
The first location I tried was to Yahoo's homepage. On this particular homepage I found access to nearly every car manufacture(I'd say they've got them all, but I not at all sure) around the world. Surf's up!!
I clicked on a few of them just to see what kinds of things were mentioned, but it wasn't until I got to the bottom of the homepage that I found something of an interest. It was called FAQ's (Frequently Asked Question) and basically gave responses to people that had questions concerning automobiles and how they work, problems with today's cars, and terminology of automotive related things.
This was very interesting to me because I work as a full-time mechanic at a Shell Service station and cars are my passion. Anything and everything that has to do with cars interest me in one way or another. Therefore I was very interested to see what kinds of questions people were asking, as well as the responses to their questions by experts within the field.
I feel that these questions pertain to the field of traffic
psychology in the sense that people may become aware of certain
responsibilities they have to maintain their automobiles so that they
don't take for granted that the car will not mechanically fail while
driving. I suppose it is a different approach to becoming a reformed
driver, however one must realize the potential dangers of an unsafe
situation. In this case, bringing awareness to the general public as far
as technical aspects are concerned, I feel drivers will think a little
for before taking reckless chances in their cars.
