During this week's search I went into the Yahoo homepage and decided to check out the link Alternative Fuel Vehicles. From there I clicked on Organizations to see what type of resources were out there as far as alternative fueled vehicles go.

I was amazed to find one by the name of Global Electric Auto Association. The purpose of this organization was to educate, research and market alternative powered automobiles (example; electric powered cars).

The mission of this organization was to "free the U.S. automobile market from dependency on petroleum." The tone in the previous passage made me realize that the purpose of this organization was not out to better the entire world, but was targeting the United States only. It had an almost prejudice tone in the way that it didn't speak of revolutionizing the automobile market for the betterment of all, but of just us. Only speaking of the United States to get ahead doesn't sound like a plan that has good intentions.

As far as the membership goes, "individuals are dedicated to the electric auto growth." Again I think that they are speaking in terms of the United States. Click here for membership information.

In terms of its relevance to traffic psychology, I feel that finding an alternative fuel for automobiles would be better for the environment as well as the people (no more harmful emissions). I'm not sure if this positive aspect would change in any way the behavior of the drivers, however, the intentions are of the best nature, provided that it is not subjected to just advancing one part of our society (the United States) but looking towards making changes for everyone that drives any automobile.
