In 1983, Jim Dator, the Director of the HRCFS, was elected Secretary General of the *World Futures Studies Federation (WFSF)*. The WFSF is a global association of individuals and institutions professionally involved in futures studies in more than eighty nations. Initially, the HRCFS supported the Office of the Secretariat of the WFSF, publishing a quarterly newsletter, organizing international conferences in Bulgaria, China, Costa Rica, Finland, Hawaii, Hungary, Japan, and Spain, and providing courses and consultation for national and international organizations. HRCFS also assisted in organizing and teaching the WFSF Futures Seminars held annually at that time in Dubrovnik, Yugoslavia and in various places in Asia, and in compiling FUTURESCO, an international futures database funded by Unesco.

Dr. Dator was also President of the WFSF from 1990 until 1993. He continues to serve on the Executive Committee of the Federation.

The WFSF Secretariat is presently located at the University of St. La Salle, Bacolod City, Philippines, with Cesar Villanueva as Secretary General. Tony Stevenson of Queensland, Australia, is the current President of the WFSF.
