Concept 1:  Road Rage Nursery

 

I.               Meaning

A.   Children inherit road rage, the feeling of hostility from their parents

1.  Kids do whatever their parents do

2.  Say the things that is heard by older kids

3.     Emotional reactions and actions are shaped and mimicked by adults’ feelings

B.    Solution

1.  Adult driver must teach their children emotional intelligence from an early age to avoid bad habits and behaviors that are harder to change when it is done for a long period of time. 

2.  Children experience a driving lesson as early as the time they are infants and toddlers in their parents’ and caretakers’ car

 

Concept 2:  Rewards for Good Passengers

 

 

         I.        Verbal positive reinforcement

                   A.  Used to prevent disruptive behavior among children

                  B.   Includes

1.     Charts of their progress

2.     Badges

3.     Certificates

4.     Stickers

5.     Awards of merit for safe riding

6.     Verbal compliments

C.    Verbal Statements gives kids messages about what an adult values and expects from their child. 

D.   Children can learn to become more appeasable during driving if the proper enforcement is used

 

Concept 3:  Children Against Road Rage (CARR)

 

         I.         Beginings

A.  Founded in 1997 as an interactive website for the purpose of collecting and promoting a driving psychology learning curriculum for children so   that they may be educated with anti-road rage awareness

B.    Preschoolers

1.     Can use tape recorders and video cameras cared by an adult

- helps them to recognize what is inappropriate behavior and visually identify flaws

2.     Educational Objectives

-To help children define the concept of aggressiveness in public places

-To sensitize children to their own aggressive experiences in public places
