I. Self Witnessing Research
A. Hundreds of participants were asked to record thoughts and feelings while driving
B. Revels “an agitated inner driving world that is replete with extreme emotions and impulses triggered by seemingly little acts”
i. What this means to me:
a. Watch out! There are lots of people out there who are having trouble dealing with trivial everyday stressors.
II. Negative Reactions Often Noted by Drivers
A. Extreme Physiological Reactions
i. Pounding heart, stomach cramps, nausea, back pain…
B. Extreme Emotional Reactions
i. Yelling, aggressive gestures, glaring, revengeful fantasies…
C. Extreme Irrational Thought Sequences
i. Paranoia, talking to people who are ont present, denial of reality….
