B. Children will see, hear, feel, experience, absorb, and learn almost everything about driving from watching their parent behind the wheel.
-it is important for the parent to be aware of their influence over their child’s behavior, in that they will respond in accordance with you
C. Verbal rewards for good passengers
-Children need a lot of positive reinforcement, why not encourage positive behaviors on the road as well!!
-acknowledge when they’re behaving well, this will tell the children what type of behavior is valued and in result they will adopt these values.
II. Children’s Road
Rage
A. can be seen as an act of defiance
-walking into the middle of oncoming traffic
-taunting drivers as they pass
B. In order for them to develop good habits as pedestrians they need to be taught the value of road safety.
C. Such rules and skills are:
-Keeping safe walking distance from the roadways
-Understanding and following traffic signals
-knowing and obeying the traffic laws governing pedestrian behavior
III. Children against
Road Rage (CARR)
A. founded in 1997, when the interactive workbook was created as an interactive website
B. theses activities help the children become more aware, as passengers, when they are being exposed to aggressive driving
C. used by teachers and parents
