I. Automotive Vigilante
a. Automotive bully
i. Aggresses against other motorists at a random or specific reason
1. Verbal abuse
2. Gestures
3. Maneuvers with vehicle
b. Opinion:
i. Takes the law into their own hands
ii. It does feel good to retaliate, but sometimes one forgets they are putting themselves and others in danger.
c. Example:
i. Not using turn signal to “get back” at driver behind you.
ii. Keeping brights on to retaliate the vehicle that forgot to turn his/hers off.
II. Rushing Maniac
a. Rushing mania
i. Need to avoid slowing down
ii. Extreme anger against anyone or anything that causes you to slow down
b. Opinion
i. 21st century rushed life style
1. Fast food
2. Quick oil changes
3. Speedy checkout lanes
ii. Hawaiian time vs. NYC time
c. Example
i. Bullying one’s way out of the slow lane and into the fast lane
ii. Always searching for the shortest and fastest route
iii. Being late is not an excuse to drive aggressively
III. Aggressive Competitor
a. Competiveness on the roads
i. Sense of loss and anxiety when not in the lead
ii. Feeling of embarrassment if passed or if mistake was made
b. Opinion
i. Very prevalent to me!!!
ii. Ego-centered orientation that can lead to disastrous results
c. Example
i. Going faster than normal so the car behind you will not or cannot pass. If they do then you feel like you lost.
ii. Approaching a yellow light and speeding up to beat the guy next to you through it.
