I. Automotive Vigilante
A. An automotive bully who aggresses against other motorists.
B. Retaliation is rationalized as a mission for the public good.
C. They feel a strong sense of righteousness and moral superiority which fuels their road rage.
II. Rushing Maniac
A. Feel a need to avoid slowing down as well as a feeling of constant anger
directed at those who cause them to slow down.
B. In reality you do not gain that much time by being a rushing maniac.
C. According to James Gleick rushing mania may be a manifestation of “hurry sickness.”
III. Scofflaw
A. Scofflaw is when we automatically disregard or ignore certain traffic laws, regulations, or signs.
B. Stopping at legal signs or even touching brakes is commonly seen as “weak.”
C. Every driver has a choice. They can focus on themselves and do whatever they can get away with, or they can consider themselves part of a community and do what is safe for everyone.
