I.
Jekyll-Hyde
Syndrome
a. Jekyll-Hyde Who?
i. Drivers with a Òsplit-personalityÓ
ii. Perfectly ÒgoodÓ characteristics; but
behind the wheel they suddenly switch personality as soon as their in the
driverÕs seat
iii. Anger plus self righteousness is the
Òclassic recipeÓ for road rage
b. Example: My husband was a
classic example of this. He is a
very humble and nice person; however on the road, he used to curse big-time
(the verbiage was the most terrible curses in the world)
c. Opinion: I know that this is a form of road rage and I am thankful
that Dr. James realized and stated for all to see.
II.
Passive-Aggressive
Road Rage
a. Passive-aggressive Me?
i. Protest against feeling thwarted,
coerced, mistreated, or repeatedly wronged. Feeling
resentful
ii. ÒActingÓ oblivious and unconcerned with
surroundings.
b. Example: My sister will purposely ignore people when they are trying
to ÒsqueezeÓ themselves in front of her.
SheÕll dance and look at them and turn away. Crazy!
c. Opinion: I think that this is the most frustrating characteristics or
traits
III.
Left-Lane
Bandit
a. ÒLeft-Lane this friendÓ
i. ÔInconsiderate driversÕ
ii. These are the individuals whom insist on
driving slower than is considered normal
iii. People who think they have the right to
stay in the left lane
b. Example: I did this a couple of times when there was this car behind
me that was tailgating me and it wanted to weave around me and then the next
carÉI did not allow him. I trapped him in the left lane
c. Opinion: This trait is classic.
I do not do this anymore thank God, but I know people who do this. It is so immature.
