I. THE DRIVER’S IMAGE
A)
- Advertisements
appeal to our “inner” wants/desires for speed, power, freedom, ect...
- Not
only males, but females also have a need for power
- The
names of cars give us a sense of power.
B)
- I
chose this topic because I found it interesting that people have an inner
desire that they are not necessarily aware of.
- I
liked the fact that it discussed how women also seek power and speed
through cars, because it is usually only associated with men.
C)
- Some
examples of how the names of car are used for power are: Jaguar, Cougar,
Mustang, Viper…
II. MANAGING IN THE NEW WORLD OF
DRIVING
A)
- Automobiles
are now being used for more than just driving: office, eating, meetings…
- Training
should be provided for new multitasking drivers.
- Drivers
face more stress due to commuting and aggressive driving.
B)
- I
chose this topic because I agree that stress is a major health problem and
driving definitely increases stress.
- I am
guilty of multitasking while driving
C)
- Some
examples of how people are multitasking while driving would be: eating,
talking on cell phone, computers.
III. DASHBOARD DINING
A)
- Eating
in the car has become a huge phenomenon.
- Americans
eat 18% of their meals in the car.
- Fast
food restaurants are making their food more auto friendly and easier to
eat while driving.
- People
are willing to take the risk to eat while driving.
B)
- Personally,
I eat in the car all the time.
- I
think eating is relaxing, and reduces my stress.
- It
keeps me busy and calm if I’m in traffic.
C)
- Some examples
of new food related car appliances include: mini microwaves,
refrigerators, warming cup holders, trays…
