Section A Report 1

SECTION A

My name is Kyle Takeshima and I am in Dr. James Leon’s class and I am one of the confused students trying to make it through the class.  The directions for section A are straight forward but they are so straight forward it is almost difficult to understand.  I am having a hard time so if anyone else is having a hard time with the assignment, don’t worry.  Some of the other students who did the assignment also had a hard time with the simple yet complex instructions.

Jacquelyn Lim of generation 19 had the exact same problem as I did.  She did her whole site about her problems with the assignments and instructions.  http://www.soc.hawaii.edu/leonj/409af2003/lim/report1.htm

(i)                  Jacquelyn also had the same problems that I did.  Everything seems so easy and straight forward that it becomes confusing and hard when the student does not understand these seemingly simple instructions.

(ii)                Jacquelyn stated exactly how she felt about the assignment.  She said that for a while she was so frustrated that the assignment was “DUMB.”

(iii)               Jacquelyn then talked about how she got through the assignment by slowing down and “Instructions are VERY IMPORTANT...READ THEM ALL VERY CLOSELY.”  She also realized that she often “speed” reads through important materials.

(iv)              Jacquelyn concluded that her “speed” reading and trying to make it through instructions and assignments quickly is not the way to go and that there are ways to help the situation other than to get mad at the computer or the assignment.  She talks about “Taking (her) mind off of the situation for as little as two minutes, (she) can calm down faster and refocus (her) attention to be productive.”

(v)                She seems to have had all of the same problems that I encountered doing the first part of this task.  She felt the same all the way to the anger I felt about the assignment.

Jacquelyn is also the subject of my second review.  This review will be about her talking about doing the second part of the reports.  http://www.soc.hawaii.edu/leonj/409af2003/lim/report2.htm

(i)                  In this portion of the assignment Jacquelyn is feeling better about the assignment and pretty optimistic because he had worked with WEBCT before.  She felt better but at the same time she began to procrastinate on her work every week.

(ii)                She stated that “I had encountered WEBCT previously and thought that since I was assigned a similar task before, I would not have problems doing them this time around too.”  At the start she thought that her experience with WEBCT would help her out a lot and that it would make the assignment a lot easier for her to understand and to do.

(iii)               She first went to WEBTC and began to get irradiated almost instantly because there were no cookies and she would have to log on manually every time.  She was going against the things that she had “learned” in the first report.  She was getting irritated from the get go and this was not the way to attack the problem.  She also stated that she began to procrastinate and proclaimed that this is not something anyone in this class wants to do.

(iv)              She concluded that procrastination and “100% HUMAN ERROR,” are enemies of anyone in this class.  She also came to the basic conclusion that the instructions are simple but confusing.  I feel the same way about the instructions Jacquelyn.  Jacquelyn also talks about how the new students need to set realistic goals as far as completing the assignments.

(v)                As far as report number one is concerned I understand what is saying about not procrastinating.  I already did it for this report but next time I will know more or less what to expect.  This report also helps me to prepare for the frustration that maybe ahead of me if I don’t heed Jacquelyn’s words.  Hopefully it is not frustration and I listen to her advice.

The third person that I read their report is Renae Mendez.  Her paper is talking about becoming computer and internet literate.  She talks about the ups and downs that herself and others in prior generations experienced.  http://www.soc.hawaii.edu/leonj/leonj/leonpsy18/g18research.html

(i)                  Renae talks about how she learned about internet searches, and how she gained experience good and bad through this classes’ internet usage.  She also speaks much about what other generations had to go through to get their information.

(ii)                Renae’s generational research shows that many students talk about “Stress, Depression, and Anxiety.”  The prior generations thought that it was man against machine or that they were trying to understand, “The Machine.”  Christine Marchadie from a pervious generation said “It doesn’t do what you want it to do.”  People also began to fear that they might accidentally erase or delete their project and that they would have to start all over again.

(iii)               For some of the previous generations they used the anger and frustration that they felt to their advantage.  They used the anger and Conrad Moreno said “{The stress} only motivated me” People found it difficult to stay motivated, but with the help and support of other classmates they made it through.

(iv)              The students concluded that many of the other students in the class also felt the same frustration and “Stress” that they were feeling but many were too stubborn or reluctant to ask for help.  Renae speaks about how the class helped her to become “Almost literate,” referring to the use of the internet and basically computers in general.

(v)                Renae had some very good points in her report.  Her report helps me because I know that I am not the only one who is having a hard time, struggling, and lacking motivation to keep plugging through.  Luckily for me I have a friend in the class so we try to help each other out, and try to help each other understand what we are doing  and what is the task at hand that needs to be accomplished.

For my last part of report one I have selected Kai Hansjurgens.  Kai’s generational report is similar to that of Renae’s report.  He has a very colorful and functional website.  http://www.soc.hawaii.edu/leonj/leonj/409af96/hansjurg/reports/Report2a.html

(i)                             Kai gets my attention with his headings for each part that he talks about.  His headings are “Fear, Frustration, Information Overload.”  Those are things that I felt when I started this project.  His information overload he was talking about his computer but I am talking about my brain.  He also used the campus computers and said it drove him “CRAZY,” because of the slow internet connection at times.  The part that sucks for Kai is that he had a personal computer but could not get it to work.

(ii)                           Kai talks about how the assignment was going to be “Difficult for {him} because {he} had absolutely no knowledge of the internet, let alone e-mail.”  He kept himself as motivated as possible and slowly he began to find himself wanting to learn more.

(iii)                          Kai and other students talk about staying motivated in keeping on time and on task with the assignments each week.  Robin Miller states that, “Motivation also came in the form of working together with others in the class.”  Kai also began to understand how to and grew to like “Surfing the web.”  He stayed on for seven hours straight one time.  Kai had to go “Cold turkey,” from the internet because his school work was suffering.

(iv)                         Kai concludes that it is a good idea to start early and don’t procrastinate on the assignments.  He also says that he began with limited internet knowledge and now he knows “More about the internet then I could ever imagine.”

Section B

Abstract:

The research presented in this paper uses memory work as a method to explore six women's collective constructions of two embodied practices, sweating and pain. The paper identifies limitations in the ways in which social constructionist research has theorized the relationship between discourse and materiality, and it proposes an approach to the study of embodiment which enjoins, rather than bridges, the discursive and the non-discursive. The paper presents an analysis of 25 memories of sweating and pain which suggests that Cartesian dualism is central to the women's accounts of their experiences. However, such dualism does not operate as a stable organizing principle. Rather, it offers two strategies for the performance of a split between mind and body. The paper traces the ways in which dualism can be both functional and restrictive, and explores the tensions between these two forms. The paper concludes by identifiying opportunities and limitations associated with memory work as a method for studying embodiment. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This research paper discusses the memory work of a group of women in response to two triggers, sweating and pain.  After individually writing memories in a descriptive style, they then analyzed the memories in a group setting and created theories about Cartesian dualism.  Three recurring themes that surfaced included objectification of the body, control and appropriateness, and achievement and the body as a tool.  This showed that Cartesian dualism was important in how their experiences were expressed through their memories.  Dualist discourse could be either functional or restrictive, depending on the situation.  Using examples from some of the memories, the researchers discussed Cartesian dualism and how split mind/body constructions are used to show a person’s physical experiences.

Abstract:  The year 1988 marked the tricentennial of the birth of the Swedish scientist, theologian, and revelator Emanuel Swedenborg. Swedenborg and His Influence consists of 25 papers originally presented at a symposium held by the Academy of the New Church which is founded on Swedenborg's teachings. The subject matter of these papers is as varied in content as were Swedenborg's activities in life. He had a long career as a scientist and inventor who made important contributions m the mining and metallurgical industries, devised a method for navigation based on the position of the moon, made contributions to the theory that ontogeny recapitulates phylogeny in biology, founded and edited the first scientific journal in Sweden, and was undoubtedly among leading scientists in eighteenth century Europe.

This article is about the Swedish scientist Emanuel Swedenborg and his contributions to the natural sciences.  His papers influenced many and he was seen as a top scientist in his generation.  His works probably are still studied and influence or changed the way scientists think to this day.

Section C

Shawna Honeycutt seems to be in the similar position that I am in.  I felt like I knew what she was talking about when she said, “I use to pride myself on being some what computer savvy, this class changed that.”

http://www.soc.hawaii.edu/leonj/leonj/409af96/honeycut/report2.html

(i)                  Shawna talked about how she went through the lost and the stressed phase.  She also talks about getting caught up surfing the net for little icons.  This gave her more stress later on because it backed her up on her report.

(ii)                She says that the internet has “Have found it has a lot of ups and downs.”  She also goes on to say “Sometimes I thought that I would never make it and the system would eat me alive.”

(iii)               Shawna says that the prior generations helped her a lot.  They help because at least we know that everyone got stressed about the assignment before us and I know that many of my classmates right now are up the creek also.

(iv)              She says “Just keep trying, you'll get there. I know you think that I have hit my head on the computer one to many times.”  She talks about the stress and procrastination.  She concludes that finishing last minute is not the key, and it is apparent with all of the grammar and spelling errors.

(v)                Her insights and her page show me that I will not wait to the last minute to finish my page.  Her page had a million spelling errors and the links at the top only link to the bottom areas.  I will perform the task a lot better than her final product…  I HOPE!!!

I took a look at Jacquelyn Lim’s page next and it was a very nice and well made site.  Jacquelyn also talks about the bad things that happened to her along the way to completing this task.  Their task was a bit different than ours but she felt the same stress that I do.

http://www.soc.hawaii.edu/leonj/409af2003/lim/report1.htm

(i)                  Jacquelyn felt confused and irritated because of the small mistakes she was making.  She said that the assignment is “DUMB!”  And is their task two she thought that she could do it easily but she had a hard time because she thought she knew how to do it and rushed into the assignment.

(ii)                She thought that this class was going to be easy, and I admit that I also thought it was going to be a “cruise class.”  She also thought that task two would be a lot easier for her because she has had experience with something like that before.  Unfortunately we were both wrong.

(iii)               Jacquelyn talks about slowing down and that “Instructions are VERY IMPORTANT… READ THEM VERY CLOSELY.”  Once she did this she went on to the next task but soon realized that she needed to slow down even more.

(iv)              She concluded that slowing down and looking over twice is very important.  Jacquelyn says that “There’s no excuse for being careless like that.”  She also says that if you are stressed out to take a little break.  It will clear your mind and help you to refocus on the task at hand.

(v)                Jacquelyn helped me to realize that even if something seems simple or if you know a specific subject matter that you should slow down and still take the time to read the instructions closely.  This will help you later by not making stupid mistakes and getting all frustrated when all you needed to do was to SLOW DOWN!!!

Hae Lin Han had a website that was plain but had a lot of information.  I thought his site was very straight forward and it seemed to be just like the instructions on the internet.  http://www.soc.hawaii.edu/leonj/409af2003/han/report1.htm

(i)                  Hae said that he is very new to the world of computers and has never experienced using the FTP.  He also said that he didn’t read the instructions well, and misunderstood some of the instructions.  He also felt frustration and the man against machine struggle ensued for half an hour.

(ii)                He thought that he had covered all her grounds by task two and was attacking the task in a more organized fashion, but was soon shown that he needed to read the instructions more carefully.

(iii)               He eventually got mad at the computer and did not think that it was his fault at all.  Then she came to realize that there would only be a “Slim chance,” that it was the computers fault, and that he probably made a little error somewhere along the way.  He was angry but knew that she had a deadline and knew that he had to finish the task at hand.

(iv)              Hae thought that “This learning experience was worth while,” but at the same time he was irritated.  He also said that even though he completed the task it was not rewarding for him because he still didn’t know what went wrong.

(v)                Like Hae I also have never had experience with FTP and uploading things on the internet.  I also get frustrated because I don’t really know what is going on, but relieved when the task is finally over.  Even though I don’t get something it is satisfying when I finish.

The last student for this task that I will be looking at is Jill Umetsu’s page.  I saw her page and it looks pretty and girly.  The page seems to radiate happiness so we will see if she got IRRITATED at the assignment and the computers.

http://www.soc.hawaii.edu/leonj/leonj/409af96/jumetsu/report2.html

(i)                  Jill felt that the internet such as e-mail and netscape are not too bad because of their user friendliness.  But for all of us computer illiterate people making a webpage is a hard task, which I agree with.  Jill also talks about and has links to other talking about felling confused and intimidated.  Ragna Borrie refers to herself as an “Idiot,” because she was having a hard time with the assignments.

(ii)                Jill basically thought of the task as a three step process.  Intimidation and confusion, Attitude change into positive feelings, and when you are knowledgeable enough to give advice to others.  This basically sums it up for her thoughts.

(iii)               She kept working at it even though she wanted to drop the class because she thought that it wasn’t the right class for her.  Jill stuck through it and kept trying even though it was “Hard and confusing.”

(iv)              Jill concluded that “I am sort of getting the hang of it. I think that the initial stage of doubt and negative feeling is due to ignorance of how to work the computer except for word processing.”

(v)                Jill was in a very similar situation that I was in.  I wanted to drop the class also because I didn’t think that it was right for me but I stuck through so far and I am slowly making progress towards the end goal of a good or at least decent grade in the class.

Section D

The copper mailbox was not that hard to find.  It took me about 2 minutes to find on google.com.  I found my copper posted mailbox at http://my.pclink.com/~rlovgren/gifts4.htm. The mailbox is medium sized with chickadees on the side.

Section E

Ryan Mitsui’s page was a nice and functional page that was very easy to surf around on.  I looked at his page talking about search engines.  http://www.soc.hawaii.edu/leonj/leonj/459f96/rmitsui/409/reports/report3.html

(i)                  Ryan felt confused at first.  He says that he is a novice at using the internet.  In his site he has a link to Sharla Supnet’s site and she says, “My first search ended up nowhere except for me feeling frustrated and helpless.”

(ii)                Ryan and the links from others all basically said that it was hard at the start and it got easier the more you did it.  Ryan says they are like worms that just blossomed into butterflies.  I thought caterpillars turned into butterflies, but we get the picture.

(iii)               Ryan talks about trial and error.  He says that it is difficult in the beginning but once you get it all down it is okay after.  He also says that reading everyone else’s sites make you feel better because they were going through the same stress and they finished it, so it can be done.

(iv)              He gives a lot of helpful information about how to do the homepage and I think I will use a lot of his tips and information when I finish my page up.

Ginger Andrews home page was quite cluttered with pictures and other things but it was nice because she made it like a real page instead of a page strictly for school work.  Ginger seemed to have gotten the concept of finding things and the pages very well.

http://www.soc.hawaii.edu/leonj/leonj/409af96/gandrews/report2.html

(i)                  Ginger has many links to others pages about how the assignment is “Draining.”  Ginger and others also talk about how sometimes you need to just step back and take a few breaths if you are feeling frustrated.

(ii)                Michelle Alonzo said it best when she said, “I just felt defeated because it wasn't as easy as I would have wanted it to be.”  This basically explains what every student in the class is thinking.

(iii)               Ginger talks about the T.E.A.M. anecdote and this is true.  I am also getting a lot of help, and giving a lot of help to my friend in the class.

(iv)              She concluded that the internet is like the gray line between the white and the black.  She is saying that basically as long as you are not doing super bad things on the internet to get “Red flagged.”  Things will be okay, and that the internet is for the most part uncensored.

(v)                As far as advice goes I think I will try to take her TOP 5 advice.  It seems like she knows what is going on in the class and with you Dr. James.  I will try to heed her warnings.

Carol Hota’s page was a nice change.  Her links for the most part still all work and the page had a lot of information and was easy to navigate.

http://www.soc.hawaii.edu/leonj/leonj/409af96/cohta/409/409report1.html

(i)                  Carol says that creating a nice or interesting webpage in not easy.  She would think about it a lot and it would almost overwhelm her mind.  She also talks about being sad and frustrated while starting and doing the project.

(ii)                She thought that her homepage was not as nice or creative as others but was still happy because she said she had no idea of how to use e-mail before this.  So it is a big step up for Carol.

(iii)               She looked at other people’s pages while they were under construction and it might have helped her to figure out what direction she wants to take her own website to.

(iv)              Carol said that she had a hard time to make an “Exciting and Extravagant,” website because she is not as creative as everyone else.  Her page turned out great and she even goes on to say she took your next class also so she could learn more about the internet.

(v)                Carol’s insights are similar to mine also.  I might not be the most creative person around but I will try my hardest to get the assignment down.  And what we may lack in creativity we can make the page functional and very welcoming.

Shane Cobb-Adams was the last site that I looked at for this section E.

http://www.soc.hawaii.edu/leonj/leonj/459f96/cobb/psy409a/report2.html

(i)                  Shane talks about the three domains that students go through when trying to complete the tasks.  First he talks about the “Affective Domain.”  This is where everyone says things similar to, “When I first got on the Internet, I felt confused and disoriented.” said Christina Kealoha.

(ii)                Shane says that everyone then goes through “The Cognitive Domain,” or what he refers to as the thinking phase.  Everyone is hoping that nothing will go wrong with their assignment.

(iii)               Many people realized that if you can’t find it that means that you are probably not looking hard enough.  Michelle Ota says, “it's there somewhere, you just need to look.”  Shane says that number one and two need to be fulfilled in order to get number three affectively.

(iv)              Shane concludes that learning about the internet in this way is a little easier because you can see the generations before you and what kinds of hardships and mistakes they made so you can try not to make them also.  Shane says, “Hopefully by reading about other's mistakes and also successes each of us can gain a better understanding for the Internet in a shorter amount of time and with less frustration along the way.”

(v)                Shane’s three step method is an interesting way to think about the learning of how to use the internet but to a certain extent it is true.  He also says the putting a little time into the computer and or project everyday helps out quite a bit and that is something that I have been trying to do for this project.  Just spend a little time everyday.  It is like chipping away at a huge stone, eventually the stone will become a marvelous statue.

Section F

Hae Lin Han’s report 2 was the next site that I looked at.  The way that Hae presented the information on the page impressed me.

http://www.soc.hawaii.edu/leonj/409af2003/han/report2.htm

(i)                  Hae thought everything was going good at the start for the second report but then he started to become frustrated and it was man against machine again.

(ii)                Hae felt as though the reason that he was having such a hard time was because of him and himself alone.  He kept making the same errors, and did not want to ask for help from anyone.

(iii)               Hae finally gave in and got his first bit of help from the WebCT password reminder service and he slowly began to collect himself again.

(iv)              Hae concludes that “The denial being that during times of distress my true emotions are not rational,” and this is a very true statement.  Some people let their emotions get the best of them at the wrong times.

(v)                Hae had to learn the hard way that everyone needs help in this class.  We even need help from the damn computers that are stressing us out also.

Carol Ohta’s blue page was next up on the list.  For some reason the blue makes the yellow and green lettering stand out very nicely on her page and makes it easier to read.  Hmmmm??  Good idea Carol.

http://www.soc.hawaii.edu/leonj/leonj/409af96/cohta/409/409report2.html

(i)                  Carol thought that this semester would be “Less of a burden,” for her because she has had Dr. James’s class before.  She said she was wrong on that assumption.

(ii)                Carol had some good ideas about time management and things to do if your account is not working.  She says it’s not time to sleep or goof off, there are a million other things you can get accomplished for the projects.

(iii)               She ended up doing what seems to be the smartest thing for this class, she asked others for help.  She thanked some of the other students for helping her and for being so patient with her.

(iv)              Carol concludes that coping is the key to this class.  She also talks about the frustration, confusion, and anxiety that everyone experiences but that’s why she says that coping is number one.

(v)                I totally agree with Carol’s statement about coping.  Everyone feels the stress of the assignments but it’s how fast you can get over it that is important to staying on task and with in the schedule.

Carol Ohta’s report 2 for the 459 class is next on the list.  Carol seems to have good sites with much information on them.

http://www.soc.hawaii.edu/leonj/leonj/409af96/cohta/459/report2.html

(i)                  When Carol heard that this class was going to be a lot on the internet she “Started to freak out.”  She says that she had been avoiding using the internet “Like the plague.”

(ii)                Carol did what the smart students do and went to ask for help from one of her friends in the computer lab.  He taught her how to e-mail people and she was on her way.

(iii)               Carol says it best herself about what she did, “So I decided to make it a point to spend as much time as I could to prove to myself that I could over come my fears about the Internet and e-mail.”

(iv)              Her conclusion is to get help from Dr. James if you are stuck.  She also said that this class helped her go from not knowing anything about the internet and computers to her putting up her own website.

(v)                As far as this webpage is concerned I just learned that no matter how little experience that a person may have with something, the only way to get better at it is to practice.  This is what Carol showed me.

Michelle Alonzo’s report 1 was a lengthy page but most of the links were broken.

  http://www.soc.hawaii.edu/leonj/leonj/409af96/malonzo/report1.html

(i)                  Michelle felt that going to see the past generations was a fun thing to do.  Michelle realized all of the changes that have gone on in the internet over the past generations and knew that things are different every generation.

(ii)                Michelle felt that, “I think that it's really neat to be part of a generational cybercommunity in cyberspace.”

(iii)               It seems that Michelle has had your class before and she seems like she has learned how to use the internet quite well.  Well enough to take Dr. James’s class again.

(iv)              Michelle concludes that the internet can be good but it can be bad.  If the only contact you have with people is over the net that is not good, and if you don’t get to experience talking to people over the net, that is not good also.

(v)                Michelle’s positive insights into the cyber world are in very positive regards.  She has gone from the bottom of internet knowledge to the top.  Hope is the word of the day…

Section G

Ginger Andrews report 1 website was a lot different than her other site as far as visual quality and content.  But that’s okay you can tell she was learning.

http://www.soc.hawaii.edu/leonj/leonj/409af96/gandrews/report1.html

(i)                  Ginger says that it is initially frustrating because the task seems simple yet it is very hard.  This is a statement that I totally agree with.

(ii)                Ginger thought that the internet is growing very rapidly which it is.  And she goes on to say that since it is a cyber community that means that there are a million people who need help just like us.

(iii)               She was smart about it and asked for help.  She also read other generations works which included their trials and tribulations.  This also helps so we don’t make the same mistakes as previous generations.

(iv)              Ginger concludes that working with others can be very helpful.  She would help others and they would help her and they could get the same amount of work done, twice as fast.

(v)                Like Ginger I have looked at the past sites and seen what older generations have written about the things and feelings that they went through while taking this class.  There is a lot to learn from people who have experienced things before you and their experience is valuable information.

Michelle Alonzo’s report 2 page looked a lot better than the report 1.  Some of the pictures were broken but it is to expected after a while of no maintenance.  http://www.soc.hawaii.edu/leonj/leonj/409af96/malonzo/report2.html

(i)                  Michelle talks about steps to learning the internet and the steps also apply to making our web pages.  The steps are, “Frustration and Anger,” “Defeat,” and “Motivation.”  This is what I went through to write the report and what I went through to put up the page.

(ii)                She thought learning how to use the internet was the most difficult thing that she had to do.  She also thought that the 409 class would be easy, but she was proven wrong.

(iii)               She had people help her to remember all the things that she had learned previously but lost because of not doing it for a while.  When she got on it, it slowly started to come back to her.

(iv)              Her conclusion is to not procrastinate on the assignments.  And she also suggests asking for help or reading books about the internet and how to make web pages.

(v)                I have heard it a million times from all of the web sites that I have been looking at.  DO NOT PROCRASTINATE!!!  This is the number one rule it seems and it seems like a good rule because I already am seeing how long this whole process takes to complete.

Sean Arakaki had a huge web site with a multitude of information with charts and everything.  Sean talks about the developmental learning of the internet.  http://www.soc.hawaii.edu/leonj/409bs2003/arakaki/research.htm

(i)                  Sean felt that the class was a transformation from “Entered as apprentices and exited as Journeymen.”  Before this class I was used to surfing on the internet a lot but not I know how to make web sites.  Let me tell you, quite a journey.

(ii)                Sean put his thoughts about the internet in an excellent way, “Learning the intricate complexities of the Internet is no different than attempting to solve the eternal mystery of women.  Both require enormous amounts of patience, both are phased learning processes, which usually begin with the pressing desire to quit, and just when you think you’ve figured it all out something new pops up and you’re back where you started.”

(iii)               Sean constructed a graph which I don’t really understand but it seems to have covered all the bases as far as his internet travels.  There were things like mood, how motivated, how much anxiety and frustration, e.t.c.

(iv)              His conclusion is that he can now affectively gather important information on the internet.  He says that he has developed a good behavior as far as acquiring information on the internet.

(v)                Sean had a website with a lot of information and it was clean, but I liked his saying of comparing the internet to women.  It is all so true though.

For my last person in this section there was no full name just C. Marchadie.  Her site is a bit on the broken side but that is okay.  I tried to go to her home page but the link was expired so I will just call her/him C.

(i)                  C talks about all of the feelings that we all feel Frustration, Stress, Anxiety, and Depression.  All of the people that she has links for all talk about these four things like every time they got on the computer they wanted to cry.  Just like how I felt when I was making the web page.

(ii)                Everyone was thinking the same things and going through the same emotions.

(iii)               One way Shane Akagi says to battle the depression is to take a step back and stop typing for a bit.  He also says if the stress is too much for him he will go and take a hot shower.

(iv)              C says that in the end it was okay because, “It gives the other students as well as myself a chance to learn from each other and about each other.”  And that is true.  People that you don’t even know in your class can become very important and very helpful to you.

(v)                C gives an interesting tip in saying that you should surf other students sites and write down what you like about them so you can further improve your own site.  GREAT IDEA!!!
