I. Developing Mental Intimacy With Ones Wife- Dr. James two step method to accomplish this

A. Explain- 1) Husband must stop adding to mental distress and 2) he must start easing her mental stress

B. Opinion- List of some things husband can do, I think good idea, but not totally agree (wife could also do these things-does tha tmake me male dominant?)

C. Psy and Cultural Significance-We have to learn to treat our significant other’s better, especially in our constant changing society

II. Positive Bias- the opposite of negative bias that leads to theistic psychology

A. Explain- Based on writings of Emmanuel Swedenborg. Life and afterlife. Scientific and empirical still.

B. Opinion- Not religious at all, so I have a hard time accepting theism as scientific.

C. Psy and Cultural Significance- Many of us are religious, so this applies. Those who are not, most would like to improve relationships, and this is one way to do that.

III. Heavenly Way or Hellish Way- We can choose a hellish or heavenly life.

A. Explain- We are born with heavenly/hellish traits. The path we choose decides where we will end up

B. Opinion- I may not agree with the heaven/hell argument, but I do agree with the consequences of right/wrong, good/bad. We all get what we deserve.

C. Psy and Cultural Significance- Society is always looking at what is the right thing to do (i.e. ethics). Psy- always tying to understand decisions of people.
