The
two tables
a.
The
laws were written on two tables – one related to God and the other related to
man
b.
In
the hands of Moses they were one – the right side related to God and the left
side to man
c.
Together
the two sides could look together and see each other
d.
This
unity represented the conjunction of God with men and men with God
II.
Love
towards the neighbor
a.
The
two tables demonstrate the love to God with the love towards the neighbor
b.
The
first table includes:
i.
All
things pertaining to love to God (man should acknowledge the one God)
ii.
Things
evident from the commandments of the Decalogue
c.
The
second table includes:
i.
All
things pertaining to love towards the neighbor
ii.
Things
pertaining to action (called works)
iii.
Things
pertaining to the will (charity)
III.
Sin
and blasphemy
a.
Sins
and blasphemy will be forgiven unto men
b.
BUT,
blasphemy of the Spirit will NOT be forgiven
i.
–means
wickedness against the holiness of the Word and against the Divinity of the
Lord’s Human
c.
Anyone
who believes and respects the Lord can ask for anything and he will provide
