  1. The Unity model of Marriage is based off the 18th century writer E. Swedenborg that deals with the concepts of the threefold self: semimotor, cognitive, and affective self.
  2. Deborah Tannen who wrote the book Gender Discourse states that women are more aware of feelings and motivation than men and this creates a gender dynamic when the woman pushes her partner (man) to become as in touch as herself.
  3. Dr. Laura Schessinger that wrote the book The Proper Care and Feeding of Husbands put emphasis on inequality, in which that men function on a simplistic level and women must cater to their desires and needs for them to function properly.
