| The Swedenborg Channel: Illuminating the World of Spirit |
I found this site particularly interesting and useful in understanding the work of Emanuel Swedenborg. Unlike, the usual websites, this website is FREE and has direct videos/programs that provide really good visual materials and sources. The videos depicts most of Swedenborg’s ideas. This site would definitely be a great resource to those who prefer to watch something than to read about it. Overall, I definitely recommend this site to anyone who has never heard of Swedenborg. |

| Emanuel Swedenborg |
I really wanted to include this link because it gives a general background about Emanuel Swedenborg. It talks about his life and his visions to learn about the spiritual world. Swedenborg was a very ambitious person and wanted to present a new idea everyday. The idea that was very profound and what we have learned in class was his concept of “Conjugial love.” Emanuel believes that “A righteous marriage is intended to be a continuous spiritual refinement of both parties, and such a union would be maintained in the afterlife.” Marriage is the union of wisdom (represented by the man) and love (represented by the woman). I thought that this was a very informative article about his life although it was very brief on his studies of marriage and conjugial love. |

| Swedenborgians / New Church -- Beliefnet.com |
This is a link that takes you to the Beliefnet.com website. The website consists of a wide variety of topics that have links to discussions about a topic you choose. There are topics like animal rights, morality, racism and religion. People of all faiths post their thoughts and feelings about the topic and then people can respond to the postings. There is a link to Swedenborgians/New Church discussions that has postings about conjugial love that I found interesting. There is a written prose by a lady about conjugial love which again, I found interesting because prior to this course I was unaware of the term conjugial and this site obviously shows that there are others that not only know about but believe in conjugial love. |
|
| |
| True Love |
I chose this site because Swedenborg uses a religious view to support his theory of conjugial love. He explains that it is God’s interest for us to desire true conjugial love. This site explains from a Christian point of view, what true love is supposed to be. |
