TASK TWO: Posting First Week's Web Discussion Message
Went and looked at task schedule to ensure proper instructions. read them twice to make sure I knew what I was supposed to do.
I went directly to webct.com and found nothing useful. It was the wrong page. AUGH
This was ERROR 2; I obviously didn't have the correct page
Look at our class homepage to get the info that I needed, I couldn't find it, but instead got it from my classmate
Went to the UH WEBCT ( http://webct.hawaii.edu ) page and registered myself then added my class to the list
I looked at the instructions about posting, and chose a topic and subtopic.
Opened up Google.com on my browser and typed in "information literacy"
Found it was a defined topic and worth making a response about it.
Posted responses.
SUB-TASK:
After I found the information, I had to take parts out of the web sites in order to formulate my own answer. Trying to reword what I had read was a little difficult at first. I had to take notes on a separate page from Word, and then piece them together into a coherent paragraph. It took about 15 minutes to finally post up.
Affective:
This task didn't really bother me at all. I went about my business of getting the information that I needed once I had made the mistake of not having the correct web site. The only thing about making mistakes is that it takes precious time away from my schedule. I don't like redoing the work that I've just done, and that's all a mistake is. Am I frustrated? I constantly ask myself that all the time. There's nothing to be frustrated about here. Well, I take that back, yes I am a little irritated with myself for not having the correct internet address for the webct, but on the other hand, I don't think it's a really big issue. I can call my classmates for the correct address. How much time did this take away from me? I think total was about 35 minutes. That's how long I searched for the website on my homepage, and also by looking at the different papers I have and the task list. I don't see this as a failure but more so a disappointment. I thought I for sure would have this assignment completed without trouble.
