The
Pre-ratings for Task 1 is similar to what we had done in class. It is a prediction of how well we think we
will do in this first task. Overall I
felt that I was pretty confident in my performance in this first task. I predict that I will take about two hours
because I want to give myself time to actually read and reread the instruction
to fully understand it. I believe in
the future tasks I will probably take least time to finish a task. The direction for this task is really clear
and direct, easy to understand.

B
The
Post-ratings for Task 1 is similar to what I had predicted in my
Pre-ratings. However my predicted time
was not quite accurate. But overall I
was right on the nose. I am planning to
successfully complete every single task in this class and so far I got task one
done and it seem like I am on the right track. I think after the first task, I
will catch on pretty quickly.

In
Pre-ratings for Task 2: I thought that
this task is pretty simple but maybe more time consuming because we are require
to find a specific article. Since my goal is to understand and complete all
task I predicted the time I will finish this task is four hours. I don’t know how long are the articles we are
required to find and read so I need to be more conservative on the time to be
able to fully understand the article and to be able to summarize it.

Journal of Social Psychology; March 2004, Vol. 43 Issue 1, p99, 14p, 1
Abstract: The research presented in this
paper uses memory work as
a method to explore six women's collective constructions of two embodied
practices, sweating and pain. The paper identifies limitations in the
ways in which social constructionist research has theorized the
relationship between discourse and materiality, and it proposes an
approach to the study of embodiment which enjoins, rather than bridges,
the discursive and the non-discursive. The paper presents an analysis of
25 memories of sweating and pain that suggests that Cartesian dualism
is central to the women's accounts of their experiences. However, such
dualism does not operate as a stable organizing principle. Rather, it
offers two strategies for the performance of a split between mind and
body. The paper traces the ways in which dualism can be both functional
and restrictive, and explores the tensions between these two forms. The
paper concludes by identifying opportunities and limitations associated
with memory work as a method for studying embodiment. [ABSTRACT FROM

Summary
and Review
This article is about women’s remembrance of their experiences of
sweating and pain. It consisted of
women encounter and the method use to retreat it. This article consisted of six women collective
constructions of two embodied practices, sweating and pain. The method that was use in this article is
memory work. They have analysis 25
memories of sweating and pain that propose by Cartesian dualism. It is the mental and the material embrace by
different classes of material and each can due to causation. Also Cartesian dualism submits to the fact that
there is a split between the body and the mind. This article also discusses the different between the body and
mind. This article is very interesting due to it
nature of research. I found that it
does not related to psychology 409 but it is important and interesting to read
because we all are studying psychology.
The year 1988 marked the tricentennial of
the birth of the Swedish
scientist, theologian, and revelator Emanuel Swedenborg. Swedenborg and
His Influence consists of 25 papers originally presented at a symposium
held by the Academy of the New Church which is founded on Swedenborg's
teachings. The subject matter of these papers is as varied in content as
were Swedenborg's activities in life. He had a long career as a
scientist and inventor who made important contributions m the mining and
metallurgical industries, devised a method for navigation based on the
position of the moon, made contributions to the theory that ontogeny
recapitulates phylogeny in biology, founded and edited the first
scientific journal in Sweden, and was undoubtedly among leading
scientists in eighteenth century Europe.

Summary
and Review
This article is about Emanuel
Swedenborg and his influences of others.
This article gives a brief introduction of a 25 papers of a book that
are grouped into eight sections. The
first section provided us with a brief biography of Swedenborg and the second
section provided us with Swedenborg’s influence on literary figures. There is also a few attacked on Swendeborg’s
writing and some whom back up his work. Finally there is also a section on
religion. It gave us a glimpse on how
Swedenborg view heaven and hell. This
article is just a brief summary of the book, I found it to be a good review and
I am more interested to read further on Swedenborg and his writings.

Post-ratings for Task 2: Task 2 was a
little longer than task 1. As I have predicted this assignment is a little
more time consuming because it required finding, read, and summarize two
articles. One article is short and the
other one is pretty long. I am pretty motivated that I complete this
task successfully. I understand the
task and feel that I have accomplished it.
This task took a little more effort then the first one.

Pre-ratings for Task 3: After reading the instruction for the third task I was delighted
that our assignment was to surf the web to buy an item. My hobby is shopping and I love to be able
to shop for a class assignment. This task seems more fun then the other
tasks so I predicted that it probably take a shorter time to completed it. I
never search for a mailbox online before so I am not too sure if I can or
cannot succeed in this task but overall I am still pretty confident.

Post-ratings for Task 3: Overall I felt like this task is pretty simple and fun. We can apply this task to our daily
life. After all we all have knowledge
of sending and receiving mails but the mailbox is something we don’t think
about. I am very optimistic about this task. I feel like I have succeeded. I did not feel a whole lot of
stress when doing this task. And I did
not feel any frustration or irritation.

I
Pre-ratings for Task 4: This task may take a long time or just ten minutes depending how
familiarize you are with publishing things to the web. I have token an ICS class and I have
previous skill in publishing my work onto the web therefore I feel this task
may take just ten minutes or so. I
have done similar task in the past so I am pretty sure I can do this task.
Section
J
Post-ratings for Task 4: I took my ICS class a while back so I did not figure out
everything right away but once I look at the ftp, I quickly got everything done
in less then my predicted time. After
posting my home.htm I wanted to double check so I went directly to the web to
search for my page but there was an error.
So I decide to try to publish the page in excel form. Then I went once again to search for it on
my home page but there was an error.
Since I formerly had published pages on the web before I knew that I did
nothing wrong so I was not too worry with the error. After talking to Dr. James about the problem he soon told the
class that it was not our fault and he have fix the problem.
Section
K
Pre-ratings for Task 5: This is the final task for Report one and it is to post our final
product to the web. I fully understand the instruction so I am
sure I can succeed in this task. I am predicting if I was successfully post my
home.htm to the web this task should be a piece of cake. I predicted that I would take approximated
one and a half hour. It is not
difficult or time consuming to publish report 1 onto the web but I predict that
it might take me a while to sum up what I have done for the past month on this
project. This task might take a while because of the summarizing of the
whole report and fixed and adjusting thing.
I also need time to carefully check everything before finalize the
report.

By
doing this report it help me understand my own self-behavior. And by doing a pre and post evaluation for
each task it helped me to predicted and confirmed my own behavior. I have knowledge of all the software used
for this task. I don’t fear computers
but I don’t like to depend on it. This
report allow us to learn to self monitor our behavior. This report also helped us to think before
we carry out a task. It helped us to
think rationally and to be more creative.
It also helped us to use our cognitive thinking. This report allow us evaluated our
capabilities and apply it to everyday class work such as searching and
summarizing articles and shopping for mailbox.
For each task we are required to predict the time we will finish each
task. When we actually carry out the
task we recorded the time we accomplished the task. This helped me to actually know my capabilities and know how
quickly I can accomplish a certain task.
Section
M
Post-ratings for Task 5: My performance on this task is how I have predicted it. It took me approximately one hour to get
every finalized. Overall I feel that I
have successfully completed this task and the finalized of report 1. It
is my goal to understand and complete all task. But if I did not do it properly, it is ok; it’s a learning
task. This project is to monitor our
performances and behavior and I felt that I could now predicted my performance
and behavior more accurately then when I first start this project. My original plan was to successfully
complete every single task in this class and I feel that I have succeeded it.
I don’t have much luck, most of the task I have done in the past is
through understand the material given and applying to the tasks. I think this task might be more of the
simpler task required for this class but it take time to finalize
everything. Luckily I have successfully
completed all the previous tasks so this last task is much more brief. I did not feel a whole lot of stress doing
this task.
