Section 1:

Alfred Basiosa gen7

Why I chose:

Perfect example of some of the things not to do with the choice of background and text. The use of icons in the background is eye-catching, but the red lettering does not show through.

Steps:

Just randomly chose the first page I found.

Topics:

The topic of his page is an intro only and the overall theme seems to be about the military.

Reaction:

Overall, fairly easy to load with the background and the pictures. Also, there is the aforementioned problem of not being able to read some of the text that appears over the pictures. The entire web site is very informational and detailed. Alfred's site does look cluttered and there could be better organization and shorter explanation text.

Section 2:

Kris Burlem g7

Why I chose:

Seems very interesting. The site contains an appeasing background and the text is fairly easy to read, except for the fact that when the text turned to blue the text began to be difficult to read.

Steps I took:

Chose a few more from the gen 7 area, but finally chose this one because the page loaded fast and the text was easy to read.

Miss Burlem's topic:

the topic of her page is The Generational Curriculum Digital Library. I am very impressed by her use of tables to organize her topics. The text is easy to read and all of the links that I tried worked.

Overall:

The site is very good. There are no surplus icons, but on the fist page, there could be more uniformity between her title and her name. I still do resolve that this is one of the better pages I have seen.

Section 3:

Ike Matsunaga gen 11

Why I chose:

I wanted to view how other people from other classes put their web pages together. Mr Matsunaga's intro page is very eye-catching. The white text on a black background is easy to read. There are not many icons to clutter and the background image is not very intrusive.

Steps:

I chose his randomly from the list of class homepages on the gen11 459 website. I went to the homepage for the Psy 409 class and chose the 459 hompages list, and I finally clicked on the first address that I found and it took me to Ike Matsunaga's homepage.

Topics:

The bulk of his topics revolve around drivers and their behaviors. The one that I centered on was the oral report about drivers behaving badly. It includes an analysis of past generations and their observations of tv shows or movies, where bad driving habits were observed and their frequency.

Overall:

The text is easy to read and the backgrounds are easy on the eyes. His organization of information into tables is very effective and the links I tried worked well.

Section 4:

Cheryl Andaya g5

Why I chose:

This page has a lot of what I would not do. It is cute and all, however there is no real structure to the page

Steps:

I went to the g5 homepage list to see what kinds of topics they dealt with. I chose the second name on the page , randomly.

Topics:

The topic of Cheryl's page is Road Rage and the internet resources dealing with the psychological aspect of road rage.

Overall:

As I said before, there is no real organization to the page, and there are many icons that are positioned sort of haphazardly. There is one devil icon positioned in between a topic and a large picture in the middle of her page, that has nothing to do with her topic. The links worked and her topic page is very informational and extensive, though. Worth a look.
