“This Web Page Is
Dedicated To All The People Who Can’t Control Their RAGE”
My
site will give you a brief outlook on some of the crazy things that are going
on in the world. Please take a look
around my web page with an open mind, and understanding of the people and their
situations.
Rage, otherwise known as: an uncontrollable
act of aggression, is present in just about every environment known to man. I am going explain and give you examples
about a few of the major types of rage.
I have chosen to do my research on Police Rage, Work Rage, Sports Rage,
Phone Rage, and last but not least, Air Rage.
I hope you stick around, and browse around my web page for a while,
because I would love your company.
If one of the topics really catches your
eye you can surf to the page where I got my insight. To navigate to the sites that entail all of full details you must
click on the title of that site. You
will find the title of the site right above the sites description. It is in bold, purple font.
WHAT IS POLICE RAGE?
Police Rage is a certain type of rage that can be very
intimidating. When a police officer
fears for his or her life it can be a very dangerous situation. Everyone has a different idea of ‘what is a
scary, ambiguous situation.’ Also, a
police officer may have a negative stereotype about a group of people, and he
or she may be afraid of them. If this
is the case, the cop might pull out his or her gun and ‘fire away.’ There are no two people in the world that
have the same idea about what a dangerous situation is; therefore the words
‘self defense’ can be differently defined by many people. It is all comes down to individual judgment,
and that is pretty scary, because cops carry weapons. I don’t mean to be insensitive, but all it takes is one ambiguous
situation, and one police officer with bad judgment, and you could be lying in
a body bag.

defend use of pepper spray, rubber bullets at Democratic Convention protest -
August 15, 2000
Find a summary of the various demonstrations and protests that took place
outside the Democratic convention in Los Angeles. The band, Rage Against the Machine, gave a free concert near the
Staple Center, right beside where President Clinton was giving a speech. This site will give you an in depth analysis
of all of the chaos that took place on this hot summer day on the streets of
Los Angeles. The news article located
at this site includes the perspectives of police officers along with the
complaints of certain protestors. You
will also be able to watch a couple of videos that describe the incident. This site is very concise and well
organized, so why don’t you give it a shot.
Police hold a man down and cuff him
because he apparently posed as a threat to their safety.
This
site gives an example of a cop getting convicted of breaking the law. Charles Becker was branded a murderer and he
got the death sentence. This is a site
dedicated to crime and its predecessors.
Charles Becker was much more than regular cop, He was a well respected
Lieutenant. Becker was a powerfully
built man with huge shoulders. He got his first job as a bartender, but soon
graduated to bouncer, earning a reputation as a fearsome fighter. He new how to control a situation with force
because he probably had no brains, but that is just an assumption. Lieutenant Becker was a huge man whom a lot
of people were afraid of. Maybe he was
misunderstood. Maybe he was not a cold
blooded killer. Sometimes we tend to
judge people based simply on their appearance.
Why don’t you see if you can be the judgment on the incident? While doing so, try to drop all of your
previous thoughts, and see if you can understand the sensitive nature of the
situation.
WHAT IS WORK RAGE?
Work Rage is something that happens out of frustration,
mostly against a boss. It can also
happen between co-workers or customers when we are powerless in a
situation. For example, if a customer
can’t take no for an answer, or if a co-worker tries to order you around. These problems are bad, but in no comparison
to a conflict you may have with your boss, because in these situations you just
have it hold all your anger where it doesn’t belong. If you see graffiti on the walls or desks this is probably an
implication if maltreatment. Sometimes
when we are frustrated we displace our anger where ever we can. The desk or walls aren’t going to mind, so
we scribble on them. However, these
aren’t always valid implications, because some people carry their frustration
from their personal life to work, and release it there.
Graffiti
and petty theft may indicate that all is not well in your company, writes
JANETTE BENNET. "A worker can feel some power by sabotaging the system.
Everybody has a need to be seen and heard. If either of those needs are denied
at work, anger is the result. Anger leads to rage, and a worker may resort to
'terrorism'."
Psychologists
and management consultants who spoke to BT believe work rage is far less likely
to occur in an open environment where people have a say, and it is far more
frequent in a closed autocratic workplace.
"A
worker can feel some power by sabotaging the system.
Everybody has a need to be seen and heard. If either of those needs are denied
at work, anger is the result. Anger leads to rage, and a worker may resort to
'terrorism'."

Workplace violence called an epidemic by Tom Mashberg
18,000
workers are victims of nonfatal assaults each week. The phenomenon even has a
faddish new name: “desk rage” or “cubicle rage.” This site touches on the workplace shooting that happened in
Missouri. “What
is so sadly classic and typical in a case like this is that everyone thinks the
person is a decent enough guy, maybe a little odd, and they can't really
understand why he did it,'' said William S. Pollack, associate professor of
psychology at the Harvard Medical School and a psychologist at the McLean
Hospital in Belmont. ``In fact, he probably didn't just ‘snap’ that morning,''
Pollack said. ``Probably, this guy was giving off all kinds of vibes and
signals in the office that were missed or misunderstood by his colleagues.''
``Most
organizations don't look at workplace violence as part of a continuum,'' said
Michele Koonin, executive director of the American Workplace Training Institute
in San Diego. ``They see only the catastrophic finale, like a murderous
rampage. But this kind of thing almost always begins with name-calling,
insubordination and subtle acts of defiance on the part of the eventual
perpetrator.''
Although the words sports, and rage may not seem to far away from
each other, sometimes we seem to intertwine them into one phrase. The words Sports and Rage never belong
together, but sometimes the competition factor blurs the line. Sometimes when
we are competing we forget that it is just a game, and we start taking some
things personally. You must always
remember what your goal is, to win the game, and to not get caught up about
what people say. Your goal is to win
the game, and that is it. If you stay
focused on you goal, nothing can stand in your way, but sometimes that is very
difficult. Sometimes people say things
on purpose so it will throw off your concentration. Sometimes is it difficult not to respond to what they have said
or done, but is vital to do so, because you never want to put yourself in any
danger. When you are trying to fulfill
a goal, and someone tries to stand in your way, it is difficult not to take it
personally, but we must learn to do so, because this is the reason why so many
people are getting hurt.

ABCNEWS.com : Sports Rage Fight Latest in Series
This site shows various incidences where raging
parents release their anger in unnecessary places. In one example, two men got into an argument at a youth hockey
game. After it was all over one of
these parents was dead. Parents need to
realize that they are not competing for anything, and their kids just want to
have fun. They need to stop taking
things personally. They need to
understand why their kids are playing sports in the first place; to have
fun. These stupid men think they have
to defend their children, but the question is, why? Is it even necessary to be so sensitive to every bad vibration
when the issue is not even about you.
They need to understand that they are not competing for anything when
they are sitting on the bleachers, if they want to compete they should join a
league. There is a place to compete,
and that is on the playing field.

Service. DENVER Sports rage reared its head during a recreational, in-line
hockey game last month when a player knocked down the opposing
goalie in a confrontation, fracturing his skull.

Recreational in-line hockey player may face charges after goalie fractures skull in fight”
What has angered Virtue is the behavior of his opponent after Virtue was knocked to the ground. "I haven't heard one word from him," Virtue said. "He never cam over to the bench to ask me if I was all right. If I was in his shoes, I would have felt pretty bad if I had blown my stack up like that. There was no sportsmanship there.
Marcus Camby sat
down 5 games, fined $25,000
NEW YORK The NBA hit Marcus Camby as hard as Camby wanted to hit Danny
Ferry. And even though Camby's wild roundhouse punch failed to graze the Spurs'
reserve the intentions were still there.
The NBA felt that it was very necessary to punish Camby in order to
prevent a situation like this from happening again. Marcus Camby was fined $25,000 for his actions, but because he
has to miss five games, he loses an additional $320,000 from his 5.7 million
dollar contract. If you are a
basketball fan you might have heard about this incident, but do you know the
hard facts? This aggressive act was not
a spurt of the moment thing, Camby and Ferry supposedly felt some repulsion
towards each other. If you would like
some insight to the truth, or if this issue sound like something interesting,
you should definitely check it out.
Phone Rage
WHAT IS PHONE RAGE:
In my eyes, there will always be
inconsiderate people around us, because we all have different expectations
about things. In retrospect, Phone Rage
is something that will live as long as human beings walk the earth. The technological advances that we are going
through has a huge affect on the human population, in a matter of
speaking. Because we are living in an
individualistic society,we don’t really care much about conversing with people
who are outside of our ‘in group,’ because we don’t think they care about
us. Since the person on the other side
of the telephone line is probably in our ‘in group,’ that makes him/her more
important than the person sitting next to him/her on a park bench. The people that live there lives with this
mentality are seriously blind. It is
crazy to think that we are living in a world where a frequency with a persons
voice on it is worth more than a human being who is sitting right next to
you. Some people are missing the
complete picture, and it can be very displeasing. I don’t really think there is any way this problem will resolve
itself, and there is no real way to cope with it. Check out some of the web pages below, and decide for your
self.

Cell phone rage
Cell phone rage. BOSTON When did I first come down with
cell phone rage, you ask? Ellen Goodman explains how cell phones can be very
disturbing, especially if someone tells you to hold on. Ellen was in the middle of a conversation
with someone and this person told her to wait.
This person ended up talking on the phone for a very long time when she
and Ellen were supposed to having a conversation over lunch.
Anyone who's
shared a park bench or an airplane with a phone abuser can tell you just how
free this person is with his/her speech. I have been bombarded with the details
of business and other affairs. If, on the other hand you turn sweetly and ask —
"What did you say that stock was selling for?" or "Why is your
friend's wife leaving him?" — you will be accused of eavesdropping.
This web site is a personal
attribution to Ellen Goodman, and her complete feelings about public phone
usage. She explains about how people
don’t give a damn about consideration anymore.
She thinks there has to be a law concerning cell phones. This is just another example on how
technology is decomposing the equivalence of human life. I encourage you to check out this site,
after all this problem concerns your personal well-being.

Tube phone war fears
Mobile phones could soon spread to London's Tube network -
raising fears of a spread of phone rage.

Out
of line: Mobile users irritate many commuters
This web site concerns the legalization of phone use in
the London underground. There is a
controversy over whether or not you should be allowed to speak on your cellular
phone right before you board a train. I
know for a fact that some people have been doing it even though it was illegal,
and these are the same people who are going to take it a step further. If this law passes you will see people
irritating passengers aboard the trains even though the legalization only
involves the runways. I don’t think you
can give them this kind of freedom because I know it will be exploited. Visit this site and make your judgment; I
know you are smart.
The European countries are not as highly advanced as the
United States when it comes to technology, but is this really such a bad
thing? Like most things, it has its ups
and downs, but I have a feeling there will be a lot of new rage brewing in
London. London's newspaper, the Evening
Standard, encouraged readers this week "to use the mobile phone with good
manners and consideration for others".
Do you think this is really going to help? I say it is a huge mistake.
Here is a worst case scenario of what happens when you
don’t respect someone’s personal space:
Last summer a German businessman became one of Europe's first victims of
mobile phone rage. He infuriated fellow drinkers in a Hamburg beer garden by
refusing to turn his mobile phone off. A fight broke out and the compulsive
communicator was clubbed to death with a beer bottle.
Phone users rage against
Ameritech - 08/22/00
Dale Partin says phone problems make him feel like he's "living in a Third World country. Ameritech tried to please their customers but competitors said the changes were too slight to have an impact. The rules require phone companies to provide a high-level of service but doesn't define what's meant by high level. There is a huge level misunderstanding between Ameritech and its customers. See what all the controversy is all, and decide who has the most legitimate argument.

WHAT IS AIR RAGE?
Air Rage is a type of rage that happens way to often. It can be very unstable feeling when someone
is disturbing the peace when you are 30,000 feet above sea level. Why do you think airline employees overuse
comforting words? Could it be that they
are trying to prevent any anxiety from manifesting in your mind. What I am trying to say is, when you fell
unstable to begin with, it takes much less to tip your boat over. Some people have the tendency to overreact
in ambiguous situations, and this is when rage occurs in an aircraft. This is true in some cases, but in other
cases alcohol plays a factor. Everyone
knows that when you are drunk you can do some pretty stupid things; so why
isn’t there a limit to how much alcohol you can drink on an airplane. All I am saying is that Air Rage is probably
the most uncomfortable rage present today, and something needs to be done about
it.
Bangor is US Hub
for 'AIR RAGE' Arrests
BANGOR, Maine (AP)
-- It sounds like a bad joke: An international traveler has a few too many
drinks on the plane, causes a ruckus and wakes up in a jail cell in Bangor,
Maine. Statistics
compiled by government agencies indicate that 25 percent of air rage incidents
involve alcohol, and 16 percent involves disputes over seating assignments.
Bangor International Airport
About 25 percent of
landings are by pilots who never planned on coming to Bangor, Maine but land
for mechanical malfunctions or medical and refueling emergencies. They take
advantage of the runway at this former Air Force base, which at 11,439 feet is
long enough to accommodate the space shuttle.
Statistics compiled
by government agencies indicate that 25 percent of air rage incidents involve
alcohol; 16 percent, disputes over seating assignments; 10 percent, smokers who
can't light up; 9 percent, carry-on luggage; 8 percent, problems with flight
attendants; and 5 percent, food.
This website is
extremely informative. As quoted
earlier, Bangor is a very interesting place if you are studying Air Rage. There are some pretty unbelievable stories,
and I encourage you to see for yourself.
Truth Proves Elusive in Air Rage Death
Final Hours Truth Proves Elusive in Air Rage Death.
Jonathan Burton is shown in this undated family photo. Few details of Burton's
final hours aboard Southwest are quite startling, so come check out the
details.

Somewhere behind the pale
stone facade of the FBI building in Salt Lake City, the transcript from a
cockpit voice recorder and a thick sheaf of interview notes hold clues to why a
19-year-old was killed by fellow airline passengers.
In the end, a group of men surrounded him in an exit row.
Somebody yelled he was going for the handle. Men and
women scrambled over seats to get away. Children started screaming. A flight
attendant asked volunteers to stand in front of the broken cockpit door.
A few men hung on to Burton as he squirmed, then he
seemed to get a hold of himself and sat down. The curious peeked up over seat
backs to get a better look.
“Settle down, settle down, chill out,” people told
him.
“Stupid jerk,” someone added.
Burton still had a sort of spacey look on his face,
and each time one of his self-appointed guards glanced away, Burton wriggled a
little more.
It wasn’t over.
He went berserk and was pummeled, wrestled into the aisle and held down so tightly that he couldn’t breathe. Don’t you want to see how this story ends? I found this story completely breathtaking. If you surf to one site from my web page, it has to be this one. There are so many psychological possibilities, you will have your hands full, and your mind will be entertained to the fullest.
Thank
you so much for visiting my web page. I
hope I gave you a little more knowledge about rage in public places. I had a lot of fun creating my first web page,
and I think it turned out pretty well.
It was very interesting to learn about some of the different occurrences
with rage, and it was not only educational, but very entertaining as well. Once again, I would like to show my
gratitude to my fellow internet companions, and I wish you all the best of
luck.
