Police Rage

Rage, Police And People: Getting Past The Fear?

In this article the author, William Phelps, identifies Africans to be the target of Police Rage.  Through this article he gave one  recent incidences where four white police officers were acquitted after running down an unarmed man in Albany.   In addition Phelps stated that in New Jersey there were 91,000 pages of documenting in detail incidences where race was a key element to the case.

I found this article to be useful because it gave explanations and causes for racial discrimination toward the African community.  Phelps stated that lack of education regarding racism is keeping American culture from moving forward.  Phelps compared society now as riding a "seesaw".  Although we believe that racism and segregation are issues that we have surpassed, it instead just created a way to hide itself and push society up and down on a "seesaw".
