Witnessing Your Aggressive Driving

For each statement, circle the item number if it applies to you reasonably well.
Witnessing Your Emotions:
- Getting angry when forced to brake by another motorist
- Feeling insulted and furious when a driver revs the engine in passing
- Feeling hostile when your progress is impeded by congestion
- Being suspicious when a driver doesnāt let you change lanes
- Feeling justified in retaliating when another driver insults you
- Enjoying thoughts of revenge and torture

- Justifying rejection of the law that every lane change must be signaled
- Thinking that itās up to you to choose which stop signs should be obeyed
- Thinking that there is no need for speed limits
- Being ignorant of safety rules and principles (e.g., who has the right way)
- Thinking that itās not necessary to figure out the route before leaving, when it is
- Not leaving early enough; thinking you can make up time by driving faster
- Thinking that some drivers are fools, airheads, and so on
- Thinking that other drivers are out to get you
- Believing that passengers have fewer rights than drivers
- Thinking you can handle drinking and driving due to your special ability to hold your liquor
- Thinking that you can use in-car communication systems safely without having to train yourself
- Believing that pedestrians shouldnāt have the right of way when jaywalking
- Believing itās OK not to a wear seat belt since you probably wonāt need it

Witnessing Your Actions:
- Not signaling when required by law
- Lane hopping to get ahead rather than going with the flow
- Following too close for the speed
- Gap closing to prevent someone from entering your lane
- Turning right from the middle or left lane
- Blocking the passing lane, not moving over as soon as possible
- Speeding faster than the flow of traffic
- Shining high beams to annoy a driver
- Honking to protest something when itās not an emergency
- Gesturing insultingly at another driver
- Speeding up suddenly to make it through a yellow light
- Making rolling stops when a full stop is required
- Threatening pedestrians by approaching them quickly
- Illegally parking in a marked handicap space
- Parking or double-parking where itās illegal
- Playing the radio loudly enough to be heard by other drivers
- Taking a parking space unfairly or opportunistically
- Driving under the influence of alcohol or medication
- Bad mouthing other drivers when kids are in the vehicle
- Ignoring the comfort of passengers or verbally assaulting them when they complain about your driving
- Failing to yield
