Aaron Takahashi

My Thoughts On Aaron Takahashi's Home Page

Aarons page is filled with color. Although his back ground is black, his page is well readable. His page possesses some moving icons but it did not take to long to down load.   I e-mailed Aaron to find out if he was an old friend of mine and come to find out, this Aaron is the same person I used to know. Back then all his friends called him "Takahashi".  Takahashi's Home page had two links that I liked the most. The first link was to a page with color codes for html. This page gave me great ideas on what colors I might be using in the future. The second link Takahashi's home page has that I find extremely helpful is the link to, "How do they do that?" This link helps me with background, color, title and other possibilities that I may want to use for the creating of home pages.

Selecting Aaron Takahashi's Page
Selecting Aaron Takahashi's Page was not as difficult as I thought it would be. I started by turning on my computer (meaning the power and nothing else). The next thing I did was GET LOGGED On to the Web. After getting logged to the Web, I went to Dr. Leon James's literacy page. This is the page where generation 8, psychology 409a, gets all there homework assignments from. From here I clicked on to the Part 10 link, and from there I chose to Go to all prior generations. I then chose generation 4a and browsed through all the different pages. Its from there that I chose Takahashi's Home page.

About Takahashi's Report
Takahashi's report talks about cyber psychology. In his link report, "My Reaction To Cyberspace", Takahashi tells of his encounter with the Internet. He explains that he too was cyber illiterate and did not know what was going on with in cyber space. After browsing the Web and participating in cyber space he realized that this was a good thing and the Internet has lots of uses. Takahashi goes on by expressing how the internet could relate to the education system. He says (and I agree) that teachers can put up their tests on the web and the students can all log on to the web and take their tests.
Takahashi adds that being in Dr. Jams's class is like being in a class that will never die. He says that Dr. James can continuously interact with everyone in the class and while the students learn from him he can also learn from his students.

My Reaction With Aaron Takahashi
My reaction with Takahashi was almost 100%. I agree with most of the things and concepts that he brought up. It is extremely interesting to me that we can now get our homework of the web. This is such a convenience for both the students and the teachers. I also agree that I can learn allot from the previous generation's work. After reading Takahashi's page I took reading the previous generation's work allot more seriously.

My Thoughts On Tan Quincy's Report
Tan Quincy's Report is all about search engines. This person tells us about his experiences with different types of search engines. Tan tells everyone what types of search engines worked for him and what he was actually searching. To learn more in depth knowledge about Tan Quincy's report go to my description of Tan's report

Selecting Tan Quincy's Report
I chose this report partly on the presentation of his home page and partly on the style he wrote his report in. His home page has a background that really caught my eye, after all this is the cover of his book. Tan's report was written like it was an experiment. He logged down everything he did and everything he felt. I felt that he was straight to the point and he was extremely thorough.

About Quincy's Report
Quincy starts off by recording how he was feeling at the time. He then starts searching a search engine. The first search engine he used was "Altavista". He searched the terms "Final Fantasy 7." He expected allot less than he got. Quincy received 7357796 different cites for his search. Most of the sites he visited was not what he was looking for. He than rates his thoughts on the whole search itself. He tries to figure out if his thoughts had any relevance to the way he was searching.
After searching two other search engins (Excite and Hotbot), he concludes his report. Quincy say's he should have used Boolean variables and he felt that Altavista did not work for him. With out a top 10 list Altavista takes to long. Quincy suggests that everyone needs patience and to use Boolean variables.

My Reaction with Quincy's Report
Like Quincy I decided to test out the different types of search engines. In conclusion there was a difference between the search engines. All of them found some information for me but like Quincy, not all of them were what I was looking for. I found out that it depends on what you are searching for and how specific your search is. The more specific your search usually means the better the results.

Brandi Ashby

My Impressions on Brandi Ashby
Ashby's report caught my eye the minute I started to read the report. She had many links and her organization was "Organization." In her report she compares different types of television programs with one another. She tells her feelings on the affect of television and the way people are influenced when they drive.

Selecting Brandi's report
Selecting Brandi's report was a little more difficult than selecting the last two student reports. This was due to the huge amount of important information found. After reading the entire report I decided to write about it.
Although deciding which report I wanted to use was a little difficult, getting to her report was not as hard. I did the same as the last two reports and found myself at the "all prior generation's page". From here I chose the G7 Home Page. After Looking through quite a bit of pages I decided to stay with Brandi's home page.

About Brandi's Report
Brandi's Report talks about the relationship between outer influences and the life of driving.  Here she expresses the importance of her study. She points out that people do mimic the way characters drive on television and she feels television might be sending out the wrong messages.
In this report she not only points out the way people drive on television but she also rates the shows she critiques. She starts of with critiquing a couple of movies. The movies consist of "Jerry Maguire", "The Peacemaker", "Thelma and Louis", and "My Best Friends Wedding.
Along with movies she critiques commercials , and Music videos.
At the end of the report she claims that she did learn something out of writing the report. She say's she will be allot more aware when she drives and not let the television influence her.

My Reaction With Brandi's Report
When I first saw Brandi's report i new there was some relevance to my life. I do not speed very often but I am affected when someone other than I is driving recklessly. I too, do feel that outer influences do somewhat cause some drivers to drive the way they do. Being that television is thought to play one of the more important roles in peoples life than television must influence driving all around the world.

Kathy Ternya

My thoughts on Kathy's report
Kathy's Report Is one of those reports that caught my attention right away. In her begging statement she talks about tailgating, which is also her topic, as a huge party that happens before a football game. To my supprize she was only joking and tailgating in this report was a type of reckless driving that happens on the road.

Selecting Kathy's report
Selecting Kathy's report was exactly the same as selecting the previous three reports. Since I explained how to get there in the previous three reports , here's a quick look at the path: Dr. Leon James's literacy page, Part 10, Go to all prior generations, Generation 6 (Traffic Psychology), and at last I clicked on Kathy Ternya's. At that time I found myself at Kathy's home page. I looked through all her reports and I decided to write about her report on Tailgating.

About Kathy's Report
The first thing Kathy wrote about was what her definition of tailgating meant. Her definition of tailgating was simply driving too close to the car in front of yourself. Kathy says there are theories that say tailgating is the attempt to force ones will upon another person.
Next, Kathy goes into the behavior of reinforcement. While her report exceeds, she introduces a girl who likes to tailgate, Denise Tanaka. Here Denise says that the rewards of tailgating outweighs the punishments greatly. Denise says that most tailgating does not end in accidents and the feeling she gets when making the other driver uncomfortable is extremely rewarding.
Kathy mentions that this type of behavior can be satisfying. Kathy says this type of behavior can also be reinforcing. Although there is positive reinforcement, there can also be some outcomes that causes negative reinforcements, she says. Kathy also agrees with Denise that any type of negative outcomes may not happen and tailgating behaviors can not be eliminated through this way.
Kathy also writes about the "Sucking Effect." She believes that some tailgate in order to prevent another automobile from cutting them off. She provides some information on alternatives to tailgating. She uses references and believes that tailgating is wrong.

My Reaction With Kathy's Report

Before reading Kathy's Report I was already interested in the subject. I hate it when people tailgate. I feel it is one of the worst things one can do on the road.
When people tailgate me I honestly feel that I should stop them and teach them a lesson. When people tailgate while I am in their passengers seat, I still feel the same way. Once I told my friend, who was tailgating at the time, that if he gets into a fight with the person in front of us, I am not going to help.
Although I feel strongly against tailgating. I did learn how to use alternatives instead of bowing down to "Road Rage"

Comparisons of My 4 Favorite Generational Reports

Takahashi's report was a little different than the rest of the Generation 4, Cyber Psychology Class. His report spoke mostly of his feelings and that is what caught my attention.
Quincys report was also different from the rest of the generation 7, Cyber Psychology 409a Class. His report was well organized. He shows his exercises step by step, and there is nothing left out.
Brandi Ashby's report was allot more organized than the rest of the G7, Traffic psychology class. She , like Quincy, goes through her report step by step. I feel she had a lot of information and allot of links to go with her page.
Last but surely not the least is the report of Kathy Ternya. Her structure is extremely organized and the simplicity of her report makes her report outstandingly beautiful. The information, compared to the rest of her class, is allot more informative and I like the way he stays objective while still adding a hint of herself.
