Advice for Future Generations

Okay so maybe I fibbed a little on the importance of this section, but I'd like to think that what I have to offer is important.

The number one piece of advice for future generations is to start everything early.

Don't procrastinate!

Take it from me. I am the KING OF PROCRASTINATION! Seriously though. You alleviate TONS of stress when you start early. You may think that writing your report will be easy, in fact it is, but the posting takes foooorrreeeevvvverrrr and a day. Added to that, this is probably not your only class, if you wait until the end, projects and papers from your other classes will start to get you down! Trust me...its a bummer. If you finish this class early, MORE TIME TO SURF!

The number two piece of advice I can give future generations is to do the content of your paper before you worry about how it is going to look. Worrying about how its going to look is just another form of procrastination! You will get no where fast. Pretty soon, it will be 4 in the morning and all you have will be some awesome layout and no substance.

Also, if you're new to web design, take a look at what other people have done to their layouts. You have to look anyway because you'll be doing that mega-generations project that will take you forever to do. So take notes. Write down what you like, what made things easier for you. A really easy thing to do is to stick with one layout for all your reports. You can vary the layout a little for each report, but by sticking to one layout, you can just copy, cut, and paste and pretty soon, you'll be all done.

The number three piece of advice I can give future generations is to do the cartoon report. Its really fun. Probably the most fun report up there. But don't forget, start early. This one takes awhile. You won't regret it.

Remember rule # 1!

Don't procrastinate! Start early! Beat the jam!
