Summary & Comments on the Generational Curriculum
Information
about this site (link 1)
A)This page presents to you three subject
areas: Traffic Psychology, Cyber-Psychology, and Spiritual Psychology.
In the Traffic Psychology Zone, you will find full text reports, stories
of visitors who confess their deeds on the road. In the Cyberspace-Psychology,
there you will find social psychology Web databases that has personal topics
such as "Moments to Remember" and "Things that make me mad."
And in the Swedenborg's Spiritual Psychology Zone, you will find several
of Dr. James full text articles on Swedenborg's approach to spiritual and
rational psychology.
B)This is a very self-explanatory page of what you might expect to find, sort of like an overview. I think this web page is a very interesting starting point for newcomers to start their search. It gives you very useful insights to what Dr. James has to offer. The background is a bit plain but it matches the text. So on a scale from 1 to 10, I'd give it a 7.
Address
(link 2)
A) This webpage provides information on
the Professor, such as his mailing address, where and when he got his Ph.D.
and also his e-mail address. Most of the time, it is very useful to make
a separate page for just your contact numbers. However it is much more
easier and useful if you have your contact number or e-mail address on
every page that you produce.
B) This page is quite useful because it gives you an overview of the Professor and makes you realize that he changed his name. Click on the link above to find out what his name was before. The background is also plain but there's not much text so it shouldn't matter I think.
A)Here you will find five options to choose from so that you may explore Dr. James home page. The first option is the Index of Documents by Leon James, where you may choose a topic from over 269 clickable listings. The second option is the List of Full Text Articles and Books. Here you will find an extremely long list of topic information including Principles of Cyber-Psychology, Dr. Driving Says, and many more. The third option is the Index of All Documents on This Site. This index is where you'll find all the documents contained within the site. The fourth option is the Search This Site by Key Words, Concepts, or Names. This search method broadens your search.
B) I like this page because it gives you options to search this large subject index of psychology related topics such as searching this site by keywords, concepts, or names. The long file warning for the index of all documents was also very courteous to the viewers.
List
of Publications (link4)
A) This webpage is a chronological index/listing
of all the works that Dr. James has published. This is where you will find
a comprehensive list of all publications completed by Dr. James. Each publication
is a link to that particular work. There are also clickable links to Courses
Integrated Use of the World Wide Web. This link takes you to a March 1995
article.
B) This is a very informative and interesting web page designed to acquaint you with the author. This list of publications is very essential because it provides you the information you need when doing research.
Student
Generational Reports (link 5)
A) This page contains the links to other
Generational Curriculum classes. From Generation 1 to Generation 5b. This
also is another lengthy page. The title is Cyberpsychology: Principles
of creating Virtual presence. This site offers you a very beautiful and
colorful scheme. The coloring is an excellent divider that separates Traffic
Psychology, Cyber-Psychology, Daily Round Archives Students Reports and
lastly 3 articles about the Generational Curriculum Projects.
B) It is very fortunate for cyber-citizens to have the opportunity to use the Table of Contents. This page is interesting because it uses different colors for each table. It also contains the 7 generation reports for traffic psychology which makes it a very interesting research of the past. Looking for reports from previous students? Here is where you'll find them!
Swedenborg
Home Page Hawaii (link6)
A) This page has a link to the Swedenborg
Glossary and it is the first page I visited with links to other webpages
outside of the CSS web-server. The links on these pages answer questions
such as "What is Spiritual Psychology?" and a full text explanation
of "What is Cyber-Psychology?" among many others. This particular
page is your ticket into many interesting and informative topics such as
Spiritual Marriage and Growth and Spiritual Psychology and Science. Want
to know more about the doctrine of a wife? You will find a link on this
page that will help you find more.
B) This page is very interesting. For people who wants to enhance their marriage should find this page very useful. Also, I enjoyed the painting of this famous figure named Swedenborg. The picture looked very rich in detail. One must see to believe! So click and find out!
Dr.
Driving Says... (link 7)
A) Here you will find the wonderful world
of responsible driving. Other topics included on this page are interviews
with Dr. Driving and Road Rage incidents such as Diana's death. How responsible
are you? This page has all the answers for you to find. There are 22 links
all relative to driving. Looking for statistics and data? The findings
of the data are incredible. You will think twice about driving irresponsibly.
B) What interested me was the fact that there were updated links to new stories such as the Princess Diana tragedy. This page is also filled with many amazing icons. You will be amazed at the moving car icon. Also, I liked the link to the Psychological Principle.
Explore
this Site with Tour Guides (link 8)
A) This page allows you to venture into
other students' projects. It also allows you to explore where you will
continue to explore and find many interesting items and it also takes you
back to the earlier generations. Exploring the site with tour guides can
be done through the selection of three choices. These choices are Tour
1 Introduction for Newbies and Topics in the Daily Round Archives both
produced by Calvin Cheung. The third choice is called Nutrition Exercise
Papers by Darin Kawamoto.
B) I like the color usage of this page because it appealed to me just like Quincy Tan's page. I liked the link to the Nutrition Exercise Papers because I found useful articles such as How to Cope with Stress by Exercising.
Traffic
Psychology (link9)
A) This page called Traffic Psychology contains all the links related to
this topic. You'll find the origins, the need and benefits of Traffic Psychology.
It also gives you links to the Psyver: Feelings, chological Aspects of Traffic
Flow and The Private World of The Driver Thoughts, and Actions.
B) I believe this page is useful for people who are interested in Traffic safety or just plain driving. You'll find lots of useful information on traffic psychology here.
Cyber
Psychology (link 10)
A) This page is the focus of this course: Psychology 409. This is where
you'll find the backbones of our Cyber-Psychology class. You get all the
generation links plus a long article about the Principles of Creating Virtual
Presence. The page has links to previous generations, including a few great
articles such as "The Virtual Book" and "Acquiring Cyberspace
Citizenship".
B) I like this page because it talks about hypertext which really is about the ways of making the world wide web possible. Multi-media depends on hypertext and that's why this technology is creating the most rapidly changing world of the internet.
A) This page introduces you to Spiritual Psychology in regards to Swedenborg's writing. Here is a well organized page with a Table of Contents. There are 13 clickable links that gives you an easier time to find information such as the Laws of Virtual Reality.
B) I like Swedenborg's first principle saying that all natural phenomena are effects, while all causes are spiritual. This is very enlightening to the mind, body and soul. This page is very useful for people who are spiritual in mind, body, and soul.
A) This is where you'll find the Daily Round Archives under the direction of DRA Librarian Diane Nahl. Prior to going online the Generational Curriculum was a collection of bound volumes made up of student reports. This page gives you an index of home pages in the online daily round archives. There you will find a message from Dr. James introducing his unique teaching approach to the idea of students writing for other students.
B) I am convinced that this is a very unique way of learning. Yet, it allows the students to grow in a different way from the norm. Dr. James has done a great job of starting the generational curriculum from a collection of volumes to a database that is reachable on the internet. The future is definitely computers!
A) This page is called Social Psychological Principles of Home Page Architecture. This page is an extremely informative place that a visitor can learn to formulate blueprints to create their own mansions in cyberspace. This helps you to realize and appreciate the designs of a home page.
B) I thought this page was very confusing. I didn't really understand it. I guess I was habituating to it. Forgive me. However if you are interested in designing your own home page, this is where you should be looking.
A) This page allows you choose a variety of subjects such as spiritual psychology. Inside you'll find spiritual marriage and growth. This is a long list of all the full text articles and books that are found to be relevant to Dr. James class. He has written over 40 articles and books that you might be interested in.
B) I like the color
and content of this page because it is neatly arranged with a terrific
background. There is one point mentioned in the Doctrine of the Wife section
stating that husband's efforts to be successful must be focused on his
wife and through his wife. Very interesting!
A) Dr. Nahl's page is presented in a simple fashion similar to some of Dr. James' pages. The following are features associated with Dr. Nahl's page address, vital publications, syllabi for her course, full-text articles, search engines, student work papers, HTML tutorial, fun sites, putting up your home page on the UHUNIX as well as a link to Dr. James' Homepage. This page allows you to search through full text articles, HTML tutorial and student papers.
B) I also like this background. I think I might copy it. It looks like white marble that you see at expensive mansions. How creative!
A) This is our University of Hawaii home page where you can journey through the various attractions on campus. Basically, this is where you begin your search of our campus. You'll like this college once you're in. Hope you enjoy!
B) I like the picture icon of the student services building. Its neat how they integrated the table of contents right under the picture.
A) This page allows you to search the University of Hawaii College of Social Sciences Web Course/Project Web Site. This is where you type in keywords just like a search engine.
B) This page doesn't really appeal to me because it looks plain and boring with no pictures.
A) The page For Earlier or Text Only Browsers is designed for the earlier versions or text only browsers. It allows users of these versions the ability to access and utilize the wealth of information that Dr. Leon James has researched and collected throughout his career and that of the Generational Curriculum Students. The information is presented in a simplistic manner. This page allows you extend through Cyber-Psychology, Spiritual Psychology, and many of the previous topics already mentioned above.
B) I really don't care for the appearance of this page. I guess because it is for text only viewing. But still, it does not spark my interest.
