A Journey Through the Generational Curriculum
(i) The first site of the journey brings the netizen to an informative
summary of what Dr. James has lying ahead. The homepages that are
avaialable tend to lure the reader to search on to find information about
the topics at hand including Traffic Psycology, Cyber Psychology and
Spiritual Psychology. A brief summary is given of the three areas of interest.
(i) Dr. James makes himself most accessable to the netizen by displaying
his email, phone number and web address on a bright baby blue background.
Happy faces welcome the viewer and encourage a friendly encounter. A family
crest is also displayed at this point where it seems that Dr. James attempts
to share more of himself with the visitor, letting himself be known one step
further. A visitor counter is displayed, I was visitor number 246 when I
journeyed here.
(ii) I did not bother to leave any reactions at this site due to the fact
that this is my homework assignment. Yet it was nice to know that Dr. James
is easily accessible. I really liked the happy faces!
3. Indexes for this site
(i) It's possible to broden your horizons on practically any topic of
interest that Dr. James holds. At this site, his student projects
are available along with details about his own interset in the field of
Psychology. There is an emense amount of information here!
(ii) I felt overwhelmed after viewing this site. Being visitor 535, I
wonder to myself if any of the previous viewers were able to make it through
all of the 270 links? Not in one sitting, that's for sure.
4. List of Publications
(i) At this point we reach a chronological biography of the works completed
by Dr. Jame. Each work is a clickable link that lures the netizen to
further knowledge of the area of interest. It is apparent that Dr. James has
an explosive background in Psychology. His background ranges from language
studies to social psychology. It is apparent that a large part of our
instructors field has dealt with an emphasis on communication.
(ii) The List of Publications is a great site. This could be used as a
great reference area for research. Wouldn't it be interesting if people
with home pages showed there life experiences in this way. You could really
get a sense of knowing someone.
5. Student Generational Reports
(i) When reaching this site, research of the previous generations of Dr. James psychology followers is possible.
Student reports dating back from 1975 to 1993 are avaiable.
(ii) The purpose of this location seems to be to help future generations
to better understand the Generational Curriculum. Each generation learns
from the last, and this is how we can continue to improve our work.
6. Swedenborg Home Page Hawaii
(i) Ever wonder who this Swedenborg character is that Dr. James continues to reference
in his writings. This is where you can finally find out! Apparently
he was an 18th century scientist who turned theologian. It seems that he was
involved with important discoveries, such as the big bang theory.
Later in his life he turned to the spiritual aspect of investigations.
It is rare to come accross a scientist who incorporates spirituality
into his work.
(ii) This is no ordinary point of view, as neither is Dr. James' site. The
views of Swedenborg were out of the ordinary for people of his time, and
probably for some of the people of today. Yet he kept to his beliefs and
strengthened himself in this way. Psychology has a great hand in life in this
aspect.
7. Dr. Driving Says...
(i) Dr. Drivings involvement with road rage is the focus of this site.
Various interviews are noted that Dr. Driving had previously participated
in. At some points, Dr. Driving incorporates some of his own experiences
into his work. He realized at one point that he was a bad driver. This
led to seeing that only YOU can work on cleaning up the problem of road rage.
(ii) Coming across this site could be of benefitial development to a novice
driver. Knowledge and awareness appear to be some of the keys to healthy
driving skills.
8. Explore this Site with Tour Guides
(i) I felt as if I were traveling through time. Being able to see all
of the work of previous students gave me confidence to continue my work. Some
sites were of particular interest, such as that making reference to graphics.
(ii) This is a most helpfull tool in getting the most out of what Dr. James
has to offer. A wealth of information can often remain lost unless a route
is given to obtain it. This seems to be a working map for Generations to
further their knowledge.
9. Traffic Psychology
(i) Did you ever wonder where traffic psychology emerged from? Or how
about, what are the basic principles of traffic psychology are? You can
find answers to questions like these at this site. It is brought to the
attention of the netizen that self wittnessing behavior leads to an
increased personal awareness that can help deter traffic problems. I found
the list of irrational ideas during driving to be particularly amusing.
I have often thought some of those same thoughts, such as traffic is heavy
when I am in a hurry.
(ii) There is more to Trafic Psychology than meets the eye. Who would have
thought that there is such a large amount of information lying beneath a topic
that is so new to our society. The issues can be addressed in depth at this
point of cyber space.
10. Cyber Psychology
(i) Thoughts within the human mind are found to be similar to the
traveling of information along the internet. It is via group work that the
on-line community thrives into a more knowledgeable group.
(ii) It was a nice to see the seven generational home pages
available to click on at this site. The clickable table of
contents and index made it easy to locate information of interest
to the viewer.
11. Spiritual Psychology
(i) The cyber surfer is further introduced to Swedenborg. The main
idea of his theory appears to deal with the incorporation of science and
spiritual outlooks. Swedenborg acknowledges the existence of both fields
and feels that the two work together to give the world what it has today.
Dr. James expands his interpretations of Swedenborg's
outlook of human physiology and cyberspace.
(ii) The yellow-orange background accompanied by red and black fonts
welcome the visitor to a warm and relaxing setting. There is an immense
amount of information here, so I recommend that you put aside a good
amount of time to review this page. It is interesting, yet time
consuming as most of our work is.
12. Daily Round Archives
(i) Before the existence of the internet, the Generational Curriculum
existed via student research gathered together in bounded volumes.
At this destination it is possible to access some of the early
works of the Generational Curriculum along with a clickable
listing of articles relating to the "DRA" that are accessible
via the web.
(ii) I visited Ginger Andrews summary page of the DRA's that
she was responsible for editing. The information she had was
from 1977, it was interesting to view. I must say that some
of the formats she used to share the Generational information
was confusing to me. It could have been that I felt rushed
to just continue on with this assignment?!?!?!
13. Social Psychology of Home Page Architecture
(i) Investigating this site enables the viewer to better understand
Dr. James passion for the internet. It is possible to further understand the
function of links and home pages through this site, along with other technical
aspects of building home pages on the internet. Links are generously
provided by Dr. James as added convenience to understand all that he is
trying to get accross to the guest of his site.
(ii) This site of the journey is enlightening as many of Dr. James' sites
are. The initial clickable table of contents allows the visitor to
manuever to particular areas of interest without scrolling through all
that has bee provided. My only complaint here would be the lack of
back to the top links that are often found at the end of a
section specified by the table of contents.
14. Full Text Articles and Books
(i) A complete list of the work accomplished by Dr. James'
is available in this location. Brief descriptions of these
works are provided to lure the internet explorer to further
investigate all that the site has to offer.
(ii) This is a particularly usefull research site that Dr.
James has provided. I appreciate the summaries of sites at
this location. Dr. James has so much to offer that it can
become overwhelming at times, so the brief summaries along
with the clickable titles are especially helpful. I
like the marble background behing the table. The
colrs of the page blend nicely together and are easy on the
eye to read.
15. Diane Nahl's Search Index
(i) Here, links are provided to encourage the development of use of
the internet. Links on constructing home pages are also available along with
Diane Nahl's own course information. The format of this link can be seen
to be similar to that of Dr. James'.
(ii) The information provided by Dr. Nahl is most important to her
students. Class information is provided along with other
points related to her area of interest.
16. University of Hawaii
(i) Just about any question ranging from the hours of the library to
registering for classes can be answered through the UH home page.
(ii) The Universtiy of Hawaii home page has been a very
useful apperatus for me as a student of the University.
The page is easy to use and very informative of what the
University has to offer current and perspective students.
17. Search this site by Keywords, Concepts, or Names
(i) A simple white and black page welcome you to search
the University of Hawaii College of Social Science for information
relating to various Psychology courses along with communications,
Future Studies and a Hawaii Women's Heritage Project.
This could be seen as a reference page to Dr. James'
site. As a search engine, this search mechanism helps
the netizen find a destination via keywords, concepts or
names.
(ii) This is a very helpful feature of the home page. It
is often difficult to find things on the internet, and
search engines help to manuever the individual to desired
destinations, just as this site does. Help is particularly
relevant to specific classes dealing with web projects.
18. Text only Browsers
(i) This site of Dr. James' allows users of Earlier or
Text Only Browsers use of the information that is provided.
Here information is given in an easy to understand format.
The eighteen links that this assignment requires review of
can be found here in an easy to view format being that they
are listed individually, line by line.
(ii) If Dr. James initial home page initially brought any
confustion to you, this site is sure to clarify the many
points of interest he has awaiting you. The lack of
graphics of this page is supplemented by a clickable wealth
of information. Information can be acquired quickly
here.
