In her report Nicole, briefly summarized some TRSA topics like Youth and Adolescence and Chronic Drunk Drivers. The summary of articles is mainly about the effectiveness of preventive measures used in this groups to encourage people not to drink and drive. Furthermore, Nicole also listed names of organization against drunk driving ( i.e. MADD, SADD, and BADD) and a brief descriptions about what the organization do to help prevent drunk driving.

 Reaction to Nicole's report

My initial reaction to this report was that is was well written and organized. The report was short but very informative. The inclusion of organization against drunk driving will be helpful to people who want to participate in the campaign against drunk drivers.

 Comparison to other reports

I thought that Nicole's report was well written. The format used was somewhat different from the rest of her class mates but nevertheless it was organized. The structure of her report was easy to read compared to other reports.

My selection 2:   Using Netscape for the First Time by Braden Kato, G2 409

Why I chose Braden's report

I chose Braden's report because I found his initial experiences with the use of computers to be similar to my own experiences. The organization of his web page was simple and easy to read which I found very convenient. I also liked his honesty about the difficulties and surprises that he encountered when he first used Netscape.

 Steps to Braden's report

I began my search by going through the awards pages and then looking through the generation 2 awards page. Then, I just randomly click at any of the names until I found something interesting. I browsed through 3 other student's home page before choosing Braden's home page.

 Contents of Braden's report

Braden Kato's report discusses his experiences when he first used Netscape. At first he felt intimidated about using Netscape because he wasn't familiar with the process of using Netscape. But after overcoming his initial intimidation and then actually getting hands on experienced in using netscape, he was amazed at how much he could do using Netscape. he found the search commands to be helpful in locating information that would not have otherwise obtain.

 Reaction to Braden's report

My reaction to this report was that it reminded me about my own experiences in using the Internet for the first time. I didn't know what I was doing but through trial and error I managed to navigate my way around the Internet. Furthermore, I thought that Braden was straight forward with his feelings and experiences about using Netscape. I liked his used of detailed descriptions in describing his experiences. Overall, this report was well written and well organized.

Comparison to other reports

In comparison to other reports in generation 2, I think Braden did a good job on his report. His format was similar to the formats used by the other students. They all seemed to keep the report simple and to the point. Not much graphic, images or colors were used by anyone.

My selection 3:  Portrayals of Driving Behavior on TV by Kristy Kato, G6 459

Why I chose Kristy's report

I chose Kristy's report on Portrayal of Driving behavior on TV, because I found her topic to be interesting. I wanted to see what she had to write about the topic. Furthermore, I liked the clarity of her web page and the images that she used. What really attracted me to Kristy's report was that it was not boring to read.

 Steps to Kristy's report

To get to Kristy's home page I went through the generations page and scrolled down the different generations. I wanted to view something that concerns traffic and driving so I went to the G6 psy 459 class home page and clicked on Kristy's name. I was suppose to chose this report but as I was reading through the report I found it to be interesting so I decided to bookmark it and use it in this assignment.

Content of Kristy's report

The report written by Kristy Kato was about examples of bad driving behaviors as portrayed on television shows and the possible effects it will have on the viewers. Kristy analyzed cartoons, commercials, music videos, television series and movies for any depiction of bad driving behavior. There were more negative driving behavior portrayed on TV compared to positive driving behavior. Kristy showed great concern about the effects bad driving behavior will have on the younger group of drivers. Adolescence are easily influenced with what the see or hear through the media and they may imitate the negative driving behavior that they view on TV.

 Reactions to Kristy's report

I am quite impressed with Ms Kato's report. She did a splendid job in organizing and writing up her report. The report was well written and very informative. She was descriptive with regards to the negative driving behavior that she was trying to illustrate. I really liked her approach in using regular TV shows to bring about an awareness about the negative driving behaviors that is present within the media.

Comparison to other reports

Ms. Kato's report was similar to most of her classmates' reports. There are some students whose reports was difficult to read because of the designed or background color of their web page. Fortunately, Kristy's report was easy to read. She did use color but it did not affect the legibility of her report. Her report was relatively simple and well organized compared to the reports of her peers.

My selection 4:  How Driver's Communicate with Each Other by Brandi Ashby,  G7  459

Why I chose Brandi's report

I chose Brandi's report because I was interested in what she had to say about "How Driver's Communicate with Each Other." After reading her report I ws impressed at how she drove around the island acting as a driver witness. The content of her report was interesting and easy to read. It was not boring or too lengthy.

Steps to Brandi's report

The way I navigated myself to Brandi's report was by first going to the generations page. I had to chose a generation that was different from my prior selections so I just randomly decided on G7. I chose the 459 home page because I needed another report from the section on Traffic Psychology. I wasn't that picky so I just clicked on any name which happens to be Brandi Ashby's home page.

 Content of Brandi's report

The report written by Brandi Ashby was on how driver's communicate with each other. In this report she discusses about the different ways driver's communicate to each other. Driver's use both verbal and nonverbal form of communication. They make facial expressions, hand gestures or yell out their windows to relay their messages to other drivers. In her report Brandi also wrote about her experiences of being a witness driver. She drove around the island observing the driving behaviors of people. What she found was that people in Hawaii are relatively friendly on the road. People often make other drivers merge into their lane. What she found surprising was that drivers hardly yield to pedestrian. They would stop for a car to enter into their lane but they won't stop to allow a pedestrian to cross the road. Another thing that she observed was that a lot of drivers don't signal for a turn.

Reaction to Brandi's report

I thought that Brandi report was an excellent report. I enjoyed reading her observations as a witness driver because it reflects the behaviors of drivers in Hawaii. The added research that she included into her report was excellent reference source for readers who want more information.

Comparison to other reports

This report is similar to most of the other reports. It was informative and straight to the point. It was clear to read. Not much use of colors like her other peers. Brandi kept her report simple and to the point of her topic.

Reactions to my classmates generational reports

At this point, not all of the generational reports are posted. Those that post their reports did a good job. Most of them were very creative, colorful and well organized.

Suggestions for future generations

The most important suggestion that I could give future generations doing this report is to start early. Don't procrastinate because it your workload will only pile up. Try your best and don't be afraid to ask for assistance. There are people who are willing to help you.
