My Thoughts On Aaron Takahashi's Home Page

Aaron's page is very colorful.  His background color is black which makes his page very easy to read.  Although his page has animated icons it did not take long to download.  Takahashi's Home page also had two links that I really liked.  The first link was to a page with color codes for html. This page was very helpful because it gave me great ideas on what colors I would be using in the future.  The second link on Takahashi's home page has that I found to be extremely helpful is the link to, "How do they do that?" This link helped me with the background, color, title and other ideas that I may want to use for the creating of my home pages.

Selecting Aaron Takahashi's Page
Choosing  Aaron Takahashi's Page was not a difficult choice for me.  I started by turning on the power of my computer.  The next thing I did was to get logged on to the Web via my internet server which is Gte.Net. After getting logged to the Web, I went to Dr. Leon James's literacy page. This is the page where generation 10, psychology 409b and 459 gets all their homework assignments from. From here I clicked on to the Part 10 link, and from there I chose to Go to all prior generations. I then chose generation 4a and browsed through all the different pages because I wanted to see how one of the original generations did there home page. It is from there that I chose Takahashi's Home page.  I choose his page because I had a previous class with him and I wanted to see how he did his.

About Takahashi's Report
Takahashi's report talks about cyber psychology. In his report, "My Reaction To Cyberspace", Takahashi tells about his first encounters with the Internet. He explains that he was cyber illiterate and did not know what was going on in cyber space. After browsing the Web and participating in cyber space he realized that this was a good idea and that the Internet had lots of uses. Takahashi goes on by saying how the internet could be used by the department of education.  He says that teachers can put up their tests on the web and that their students can all log on to the web and take their tests.  Although this sounds like a good idea, me being an education major, I do not agree with him on this because there are too many third variables that can come into play using this type of system.  Also, who's to say that the students aren't cheating.  Once again too many third variables.

Takahashi says that being in Dr. James' class is like being in a class that will never die. He says that Dr. James can continuously interact with everyone in the class and while the students learn from him he can also learn from his students.

My Reaction With Aaron Takahashi
My reaction with Takahashi was around 85%. I agree with most of the things and concepts that he brought up with the exception of students taking their exam on the Web.  Although it is extremely interesting to me that we can now get a lot of our homework off of the web. This is can be a convenience for both the students and the teachers, but it can also be a negative thing because students will no longer feel the need to go to class because there are alternative ways of getting the notes.  This I feel will take away from one's educational experience.  I found that there is a lot to be learned from the previous generation's work.  I also found that it was interesting to see how the pages changed throughout the generations.

Selecting Fred Yuen's Report
I chose Fred's report of the topic of his report. His Report was on a very interesting topic and I wanted to learn more about it.  I also choose it because it was written very good and it caught my eyes.  Fred's report has given me an idea on how to do my reports for this class and made me more interested in traffic psychology.

About Fred's Report
Fred's report starts out with a really great table of contents.  It made it really easy for me to see what his report was about and what it contained.  His report then goes on to discuss different aspects of safety activism on the information highway.  His report includes information on motor issues and the art of driving.  He also talks about programs like Teenvue, PAST, MADD, VETA and the NHTSA-National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

My Reaction with Fred's Report
Like Fred I am very interested in making our roads a safer place to drive.  This I feel can be accomplished if people are informed of the issues and if people learn how to drive in under less than acceptable situations.  By this I mean if people learn how to drive while intoxicated, stoned, angry, sad or whatever the occasion may be.  By learning these skills I feel that we will be on the right path to making our roads a safer, stress free place to drive.  Fred did a really great report.  His wordings are really well thought out and phrased.  I liked the color schemes that he used throughout his web pages.  Overall I feel that Fred did a great job.

My Impressions on Brandi Ashby
Brandi's report caught my eye the minute I started to read the report.  She had so many links and her report was so organized that it made it so easy to follow and understand.  In her report she compares different types of television programs with one another.  She tells her feelings about the effect of television on the way people are influenced when they drive.

Selecting Brandi's report
Selecting Brandi's report was an easy choice for me.  I found her topic to be very interesting and relevant in today's world.  I also liked the way that her report layout looked.  Her table of contents was very well thought out and organized..

Although deciding which reports I wanted to use was difficult choosing Brandi's was an easy choice.  Getting to her report was difficult at all.  I did the same as the last two reports and found myself at the "all prior generation's page". From here I chose the G7 Home Page. After looking through the names of people on their home page I saw Brandi's and remembered hearing her name before so I decided to take a look at it.  It was one of the best that I have seen so I decided to stay with Brandi's home page.

About Brandi's Report
Brandi's Report talks about the relationship between outside influences and the way that we drive.  Here she discusses the importance of her study. She points out that people do copy the way characters drive on television and she feels television might be sending out the wrong messages.

In this report she not only points out the way people drive on television but she also rates the shows she critiques. She starts of with critiquing a couple of movies. The movies consist of "Jerry Maguire", "The Peacemaker", "Thelma and Louis", and "My Best Friends Wedding.

Along with movies she critiques commercials , and Music videos.
At the end of the report she claims that she did learn something out of writing the report. She say's she will be allot more aware when she drives and not let the television influence her.

My Reaction With Brandi's Report
When I first saw Brandi's report i new there was some relevance to my life. I do not speed very often but I am affected when someone other than I is driving recklessly. I too, do feel that outer influences do somewhat cause some drivers to drive the way they do. Being that television is thought to play one of the more important roles in peoples life than television must influence driving all around the world.  I am really impressed with the amount of research that Brandi put into her report.  It is all well thought out and planned.  This was one of the best that I have seen so far.

My thoughts on Mike's report
Mike's Report Is one of those reports that caught my attention right away. The reason that this is so is because of the title of his report, From the Infamous Bird to the Courteous Smile.  This title gave me a feeling that he had a lot to say about the topic and it made me more interested in it myself.

Selecting Mike's report
Selecting Mike's report was exactly the same as selecting the previous three reports. Since I explained how to get there in the previous three reports , here's a quick look at the path: Dr. Leon James's literacy page, Part 10, Go to all prior generations, Generation 8 (Traffic Psychology), and at last I clicked on Mike Silva's.

About Mike's Report
The first thing that I noticed was his title and his rather long table of contents.  This to me showed that he put a lot of time and effort into his report.  In the beginning of his report he goes and summarizes four different people's reports from prior generations.  He gives a summary of their report then gives his reaction to what they say.  He also goes and gets articles from the web to discuss.  This I really liked because there was a really great article about an act of kindness which made me feel good to be alive.  He then goes into some other students reports and finally into the textbook and class discussions on this topic.  I have to say that Mike's report was very well done.  It was really easy to read and to follow.  I liked the way he his report flowed.

My Reaction With Mike's Report

Before reading Mike's Report I was already interested in the subject.  But, after reading his report it made me so interested that I have decided to do this report topic as one of my reports.  Mike seems to really have a knack for doing these reports because I went and read his other reports and they were all excellently done.  Just by looking at his work I can see that Mike put in a lot of time and effort into his web pages and this shows that hard work yields positive results.

Comparisons of My 4 Favorite Generational Reports

Takahashi's report was a little different than the rest of the Generation 4, Cyber Psychology Class. His report spoke mostly of his feelings and that is what caught my attention.
Fred's report was also different from the rest of the generation 8, Cyber Psychology 409a Class. His report was well organized. He shows his exercises step by step, and there is nothing left out.
Brandi Ashby's report was allot more organized than the rest of the G7, Traffic psychology class. She , like Fred, goes through her report step by step. I feel she had a lot of information and a lot of links to go with her page.
Last but surely not the least is the report of Mike Silva. His structure is extremely organized and the sear length of his report makes his report outstandingly beautiful. The information, compared to the rest of his class, is a lot more informative and I like the way he stays objective while still adding a hint of himself.

My Opinions on my classmates pages

In comparison to my classmates reports I would have to say that mines looks pretty good.  Some of my classmates pages have a lot of time and effort put into them.  Some are more creative than mine and some are just flat out better than mine.  However, I feel that I did the best job that I possibly could do with the knowledge that I have.
 You decide!

My Suggestions for Future Generations

Computers are crazy at first and it might seem a little overwhelming.  Stick to it and everything will become either fun or challenging.  Remember that computers are not only for work.  Also if you know what you are doing don't be afraid to offer assistance to others because maybe next time it will be you who are dazed and confused.
