Introduction

In our everyday life, how many times would you say you rage?  If you think never, than you are mistaken. Many people would view rage as something like a tantrum, where you go into serious anger episodes that is very violent. But that is not the case. It could be just your thought about raging, negative thought about doing something, negative imagination toward someone or something, it could be basically anything that you can imagine. We can label these behaviors as rage as we express our feelings and emotions to the world that we live in. From my Annotated Bibliography on the Age of Rage, you will see that the rages that we know are not only the out of control outrage that we previously believed. Many times, it comes in a subtle way or sometimes more bolder and identifiable way and this rage is expressed from almost every aspect of our lives. Either at workplace or at school, or even at restaurants, hospitals, sports games, in the roads. I had labeled them as

WORK RAGE: Features three websites that describe the growing danger zone in our workplace. Some of the sites offer help in dealing with the workplace violence and brings to our attention, the seriousness of rages in our work force.

NURSE RAGE: This is a site that is related to the work rage. Nurse rage is a major issue that is becoming recognized. Nursing professional have created many sites that expresses their rage towards the doctors, patients, and other people in the related field.

TAXI RAGE: Taxi drivers are considered to be in the profession with one of the highest violent acts acted upon them. Murders, attacks, these serious issue brought such taxi drivers into rage!

FAN RAGE: Why would fans rage? While attending sports events, many fans get injured, attacked physically and verbally. These sites introduce the rages that some of the soccer fans have from all over the world.

WAITER RAGE: Waiters rage?? Yes, they rage against their customers. You’ll find all the gross stories of their raging episode and what they did about it!

However, there are many more rages. Rage is not only limited to crazy, or out of control people. It is what normal people have to deal with everyday. Most of the time, we express them but there is many times, where we witness others in expressing the rage.

Whatever the case, rage is something, that has come up in our attention and is considered as a big problem in this society. It is global problem and it needs to be addressed. We all need to do something about it because it has become a serious matter. The violence that take place in this world is becoming a world crisis and we all need to work at it to improve it. But is there solution?

Many psychologists and sociologist study these issues. The violence in our life, from the television set, movie screens, news, or even from the street has been on the increase. May be these violence that we see on daily basis has made us become more accustomed to it and has some effect on our out of control behaviors and thoughts. From the society’s view, even the freedom of speech that we have could be a possible factor that contributes to our increasing rage in the world. May be we began to take advantage or take it for granted such privilege of freedom of speech and began to use it to hurt and jeopardize the relationship between the people that we deal in our lives.

I am going to take 3 episodes that I consider RAGE EPISODES. It has version of the story, and my self-witnessing observation of that incident using the Three-step methods, and also provide some theories that could explain some of my behaviors, thoughts, and feelings that lead to rage.

CONCLUSION

After reading this page, how many times would you say you rage? I’m sure it is more than what you previously have thought. It is really important to realize that rage is a serious issues. Road rage, Air rage, Work rage, these terms are already known and brought public’s attention due to its growing problems it has on our society and to individuals as well. The seriousness of this issue can be realized when each individual become more aware of their own rage episodes. It is each individual who is in charge of the rage. If we become aware of our action, thoughts, and feelings before we rage, many conflicts may be resolved without becoming a problem. When we become consciously aware of our sensorimotor, cognitive, and affective self, we will come to better understanding of who we are and can begin to bring positive changes to our lives. This perhaps, may lead to finding peace and happiness in our lives.
