Aaron's Info Page

Thanks for coming in!! Well, some of you who have wondered what happened to me, I'll tell you all the cool things that have happened in the past couple of years.

The Kamehameha Schools

Well, God has put it on my heart not to apply at Kamehameha. As my wedding date approaches, I have evaluated my priorities and coaching is not as important as cultivating my relationship with the Lord, working on my marriage with Sam, finishing school, and working. I know that those years at Kamehameha were wonderful and I know I will treasure those memories as long as I live. I know that whoever fills that spot will have a great bunch of kids to work with. I hope everyone who is involved with th program next year will go easy on the new coach. Good luck in our quest for the state championship.

The University of Hawaii

I am finally graduating in the Fall of 1998 with a degree in Psychology. I am overjoyed that I can actually see the light at the end of the tunnel. What will I do now? I will apply to William S, Richardson School of Law for the fall of 2000 or 2001. I am not sure how this will go due to the "lost years" of UH where my GPA wasn't so hot. I know I can do it, but I have to graduate. As far as college ministry, that will end with my undergraduate education. I know New Hope will find someone better than me to lead the college ministry. I know that there will be other places to serve in the church. Hey, maybe I'll join the New Hope worship team!! Oh, another thing, I joined the Cooperative Education program and it is wonderful opportunity for anyone that is looking for on-the-job experience and possible career experience. I have gotten placed with Lundsford Dole Phillips, an attorney. I know I will have a lot of things to learn about being an attorney with him. I can't wait. For more information, go see the Co-op office in the student services center. It's in the same office as Student Employment.

The University of Hawaii Rainbow Wahine

I have finished my tour of duty with Women's soccer as I wasn't able to fulfill my responsibilities to Pinsoom and the team due to my coaching commitments to Kamehameha. I will forever be thankful to Pinsoom and his staff for allowing me to pursue my education as well as help the team in any way possible. I wish them luck in their future seasons and I know that I will support the team when they play in the fall. I hear North Carolina will be coming one of these seasons. I saw them play the NCAA Semi-final against Santa Clara on TV, and they are good. UH will have their hands full. It will be cool to watch National team players for the first time. Also, Anson Dorrance has over 415 wins (417-16-11) to his credit in 19 seasons with a lot of NCAA championships. Now that's a coach. No, Legend is the word, I think.

Soccer and The Hawaii Tsunami

I still play with Vaiete in the Ranger league on Sundays and I play with Latin Hawaii in the night league. Both are fun. I finished my first season with the Tsunami last summer and I rode the bench. Well, sort of. I played at the end of the season but a lot of people quit. Better for me. The Tsunami is started contrary to popular belief that the team has folded. We are amateur this year with a six-eight game schedule which should be over before the rooster crows. Well, I think that getting healthy is the main priority here, and I know that carrying the extra fifteen pounds I gained over thelast year is making my body play differently than before. I hope to lose that over the summer.

Am I still Playing Music at Pizza Bob's?

No. I haven't played there in over two years, but for some reason, people still ask me that question. After I was let go from the restaurant, I played solo for an entertainment firm called "Tihati's" where I was sent to play gigs at hotels. That was my professional low-point because I played long hours, no one listened, and the pay stunk. It got very lonely and playing music was too much like work, so I quit professionally and haven't looked back. Funny, I was called on stage by a friend of mine at Aloha Tower Marketplace just recently and I forgot most of the hawaiian music I had played. So, I winged it and we had a good time. Any records in the making? Nope, but I am still playing for the church. I will always do that. Come to think of it, I like it better because people listen to me with a different purpose than at Pizza Bob's or in the hotels.

New and Improved

Well, to all of you who didn't know, I AM ENGAGED TO BE MARRIED!! Yup, I am getting old. First I am graduating, and now I am getting married. We have a date-- July 5. That is subject to change though. As of now, Pastor Wayne Cordeiro will be doing the wedding, but we are securing the place. It is going to be at Hawaii Country club. Also, We have not figured out who will be in the party, either. The unfortunate soul (Gosh, I love that woman) is Samantha Chiemi Obara. She is a '92 Iolani grad who graduated from Santa Clara. If her name sounds familiar, she is that soccer girl that everyone talks about. I met Sammie in, of all places, Maui at the Upcountry Fair soccer tournament that's held every June. I am living near Punahou School, and the bike ride is neat. People keep saying that we can walk to the Punahou Carnival, but even that close I have no desire to go to The Punahou Carnival. I gotta thank my sister for letting me use her bike. It's getting a lot of mileage. I know I have been really out of the loop with a lot of people, and I apologize for that. So, here's your opportunity to get in touch. SO...If you want to get a hold of me, use the email buttons scattered throughout the page and I will give you my phone number and address, OK?
