A OL Users-Help Has Arrived |

Hello, future generations. If you plan on doing the Internet Literacy Exercises from home, and you have AOL, you might be wondering what are the equivalent exercises. I have taken the guesswork out of this part. Most of you will already know how to do most of these exercises without my help, but just in case? Here it is! Good luck with your assignments. |

How to do this with America Online
|

This does not apply, unless you have a UH Unix account and do not know your commands. If you know what you are doing, skip this part and move on. If you do not know what is going on, then follow Dr. James' instructions.

You can create a signature file by going to File, New. You should see an Untitled Notepad. Create your signature and save it. You must open this document, copy and paste your signature on each e-mail. There is no way to do this on AOL as of yet.

Have you ever downloaded something from the internet or an email into your computer system? If you said yes, then complete your ratings sheet, and move on to parts 4-6. If you said no, then really try to follow Dr. James' instructions.

Class Mailing List and Discussion
|
Have you added addresses to your address book? Click on the Write icon at the top of your AOL Menu. Click on New Group. Title the group the name of your psych course. Highlight the addresses in the To: section. Go to Edit, Copy. Click your cursor in the box under the New Group title and go to Edit, Paste. Did the addresses paste? If you said yes, save it, and then, you have completed the task at hand. Click here for the Discussions.

Do you know how to save your files? Do you know how to create new folders? If you said yes, then You've Done It! Complete your ratings sheet for parts 4-6.

Take your Home Page, that you just created, and in the same directory or folder as the home.html, save the same file as each of the following:g11generations.html, g11newsgroups.html, oral.html, report1.html, report2.html Icons is a separate subdirectory. See these instructions.

Have you bookmarked your favorite places in AOL? If you said yes, then Congratulations! You are finished. Just fill out your ratings sheet for parts 7-9.
