I went to the Generation 6 homepage of the traffic psychology class, and found 3 senpais's experiences and reactions on this same topic.
Ms. Jennifer Kaneshiro watched 10 TV programs that portrayed driving behaviors. She found out that she had never realized how much negativity those programs contained until she paid careful attention to them. I like her web page because it is very well organized and very nicely designed. You will have an easy straight access to each example of driving on TV without clicking around.
Ms. Kristy Kato also viewed 10 examples of driving behavior on TV, which includes cartoons, commercials, TV series, movies and music videos. In her report, she pointed out "hitchhiking" as a dangerous traffic behavior, which I thought was an interesting concept. Most of the programs she used on her report were something that I have never seen, but actually I am glad that I have never seen those examples of drivers behaving badly, anyway!
Ms. Kristin Subia found several examples of drivers behaving badly in movies that were aired on TV. She also watched NASCAR Winston Cup (an auto racing competition) and found it important that we have to remind ourselves that in reality we have to worry about safety first rather than to look for excitement or freedom while driving. I agree with her that even those races have no intention of encouraging fast driving, it could influence drivers to speed when they are driving due to the excitement of those races.
