Who am I?

ristin Anne Evert is my full legal name, although many people also know me as Makaonaona, which is my given Hawaiian name. I got this in my Hawaiian 102 class, and it stuck with me through my three years of taking the language.

ight now I am scheduled to graduate this May with a B.A. in Psychology and a minor in Theater. Interesting combo, huh?

chose my path based on my love of people and children. I've been working with kids for a long time now, especially if you count my two younger brothers, Adam (16) and J.D. (14). But primarily as a six year veteran of the Maui County Parks and Recreation Summer PALS program.

ince I love kids so much, I am currently attempting to get into the Masters program in Counseling Education, so I can continue to help as many young people as I can. If this doesn't work out, I am also looking into the Masters program in Library and Information Sciences.

o as for me on a personal note, I was born in Caldwell, New Jersey on September 16, 1975 to Daniel and Judy Evert. We moved to Bricktown, New Jersey about two years later, and then to Pukalani, Maui, Hawaii in 1988. I really consider Maui to be my home. I graduated from Maui High School in 1993, and left my family in August of that year to come here to U.H. I miss them and my two dogs, Oreo and Allie, my brother's lovebird, Henry, and our guppies, Stimpy and Ren Jr. #1-7 every day. I currently live in Waimanalo with my wonderful boyfriend, Robert, and his family...Mom, Dad, Casey, Billie, Malu, Rachel, Sunny, Kiki, Liko, and Honu.
