My Reactions to the Generational Curriculum

Statement About This Site(Link 1)

  1. This page gives a brief statement of the home pages of students and other opportunities visitors will find in the three course Dr. James offers: Traffic Psychology, Cyber-Psychology, and Spiritual Psychology. It also offers a little help to those who may have a hard time navigating through this site (a Back to Leon James Home Page), which brings you back to the central location that leads to every other location.
  2. This is good to let you know what the three topics are about. The note on navigation is also very helpful to those that easily get lost, like me.

Address(Link 2)

  1. This page gives information about Dr. James, his former name, what degree he has and where and when he got it, his addresses for those who want to write or e-mail him, and even a phone number for voice mail.
  2. What I expected to find on this page and didn't, was a little personal information about him, like where he was from, why he changed his name, hobbies, etc.

Indexes For This Site(Link 3)

  1. This page offers 5 options for finding things on this site: an index of documents by Leon James, a list of fulltext articles and books by Leon James, an index of all documents on this site, a search this site by keywords, concepts, or names, and a subject index.
  2. Upon looking at this page, I never realized there were that many things I could look up, it boggles the mind. Although, this makes it a great deal easier to find things you are looking for.

List of Publications by Leon James(Link 4)

  1. This page lists all of the works published by Dr. James. It also lets the visitor know that he has works published under his previous name, Jakobovits, which is helpful for those who didn't know he changed his name.
  2. When I came to this page, I couldn't believe how many publishings he had. I expected to see a few on Traffic and Cyber-Psychology, but there weren't many. Most were on language.

Student Generational Reports(Link 5)

  1. This page gives a brief description of what the Traffic and Cyber-Psychology student reports and Daily Round Archives student reports are about. Italso gives a link to all of the students reports for you to read. It also gives 3 articles that discuss the generational curriculum and a brief explanation of how this project got started.
  2. This page makes it easy to look at the other generations reports and also gives you a lot of things to click on and read, but it provides plenty of interesting information, like how this project got started.

Swedenborg Home Page Hawaii(Link 6)

  1. This page is all about Swedenborg and also has a very nice picture of him. There is also a Swedenborg Glossary that gives you things to click under the headings Spiritual Psychology and Science, and Spiritual Marriage and Growth. There is also a section of Full Text Articles by Dr. James and other Swedenborg Home Pages. It also gives some history of who Swedenborg is.
  2. At first, I was like "Who is this Swedenborg guy?" And after looking at this page and all the things to click on, I still don't know who he is. I got tired just looking at all the links. Yet, this is a very interesting page because there is so much to look at and read, but you need a lot of time to look at them all.

Dr. Driving Says...Road Rage and Aggressive Driving(Link 7)

  1. This page is all about Dr. Driving. It gives interviews and consultations he has done, an explanation of the Dr. Driving Logo, and tips for hassle-free driving and how to deal with aggressive drivers and road rage. It also gives personal accounts of random acts of kindness and a discussion of Princess Diana. There are also many other pages you can link to an some facts about driving.
  2. I really enjoyed this page. I liked the random acts of kindness because I could really relate to many of them and the explanation of the icon was interesting. I also thought many of the facts were very interesting, since I didn't know most of them. The cartoons were also very funny.

Explore This Site With Tour Guides(Link 8)

  1. This page allows the visitor to look at the website with the help of 3 different tour guides. The first tour is an introduction for newbies, the second tour is for topics in the Daily Round Archives, and the third tour is for nutrition and exercise papers.
  2. This page wasn't too interesting since I already have a basic idea of how to navigate this website, but it would be pretty useful for those who need help.

Traffic Psychology(Link 9)

  1. This page is all about Traffic Psychology and gives in great detail everything you need to know about it. There is also a table of contents that makes it easier for you to look for specific pieces of information.
  2. This page has just a little too much to read and just a little too many things to click on. So I won't. I'll do it later, when I have the time.

Cyber-Psychology(Link 10)

  1. This page is all about Cyber-Psychology and give in great detail everything you need to know about it and things relating to it. There are links to previous generations at the beginning of the page and a table 0of contents to make looking for specific pieces of information easier.
  2. This page too has just a little too much to read and click on, so again, I won't. I'll do it later, after I finish doing my exercises. Also, this page has the links to other previous generations at the beginning of the page, I think the page on Traffic Psychology should also. And how come the generations on this page only go up to generation 5?

Spiritual Psychology(Link 11)

  1. This page is about Spiritual Psychology and contains a great deal of information. So much information that it is divided into 3 parts. There is also a list of abbreviations of Swedenborg's writings to help you identify them in this pages' discussion.
  2. Too much information, brain overload! No, I didn't read much of it since it didn't pertain to any of the other classes I am in (Psy 409 & 459). I didn't even know this class existed until I saw it on Dr. James's Home Page.

Daily Round Archieves(Link 12)

  1. This page is about the projects of the Psychology 499 class. It details what the DRA is, what the students had to do, and what it is now, online. It also lists an index of the home pages for these students and some articles relating to the DRA.
  2. This page is pretty important because it details the life of the prior generations. It provides information in the problems they encountered and in term helped the future generations to improve on their work. It shows how much more advanced we are now.

  1. This page discusses how the internet came to be and all the things needed to know about web pages, its taxonomy, function, links, contents, and features. It also gives some related articles by Dr. James and some students.
  2. This is a good page to read to learn about the beginning of the internet and all about web pages. It helps to know a little background about what you are doing and why you are doing it.

Full Text Articles and Books by Leon James(Link 14)

  1. This page is a complete index of all the topics included on Dr. James Home Page site. It lists them all and gives a brief description of what it is about.
  2. This page is useful in the sense that it makes it easy to go to a specific article or book you are looking for. What I didn't know was what the title for this link was. On Dr. James' Home Page, all that's listed is By Leon James. How about everyone else?

Diane Nahl's Search Index(Link 15)

  1. This page has Diane Nahl's address, vits, publications and articles, and her students' papers. It also has a listing of her favorite search sites, an HTML tutorial, and how to put up a home page on the UHUNIX (which didn't work).
  2. This was an interesting page. I got to read about who she was, because I had not heard of her before. There was also a helpful HTML tutorial and probably also the home page steup, if I could have viewed it. It also provided some interesting searches one could look into.

University of Hawaii(Link 16)

  1. This page has everything you need to know about the University of Hawaii. It includes recreational activities, access to libraries all around the world, student services and information, and many, many more.
  2. This is a great website. It has everything anyone would want to know about the University. It allows students and visitors to find out things without actually visiting it. Saves time and is very useful.

Search This Site by Keywords, Concepts, or Names(Link 17)

  1. This page lets you type in something and you can search for it on Dr. James' Home Page. This is for when you are looking for a specific piece of information on the same topic, person, etc.
  2. This is useful because it allows you to look for a particular piece of information without looking thorough the entire site. Saves time and is very helpful.

Text Only Browsers(Link 18)

  1. This page lets visitors view Dr. James site with text only browsers.
  2. This is needed so those who only have text browsers can look at all sites. Although I must admit, it looks pretty dull without any pictures, icons, etc.
