My Report 1 on: Gender Differences In Driving by Tamar Carreira Psy.
409a, G9 - Traffic Psychology
I chose
Tamar Carreira's report because she discusses about gender differences
of male and female drivers. I like gender issue topics because we
all can relate the similarities and comparisons on how we get influenced
in driving. By reviewing her Web page, the interesting issues that
come into mind is that women are more honest than men when driving.
Also the issues of men are less likely to ask directions than women. Her
page gives a general detail of many issues of gender differences and there
are different ways in improving them. I like the different links
that she has on her page and the other people's comments of what they felt
about gender differences in driving.
The steps that led me this report
I retraced the steps by looking at the different generation listing, and I chose Generation 9 and I looked at each name and picked this particular page. I liked the dolphin that this person used on her page. I looked at several reports before I chose this one. I had other options in choosing the others, but I thought this page was cute because I love dolphin that was displayed. I spent at least 20-30 minutes looking at each generation page. I knew my final pick after I browsed several generations. I liked the links that was displayed and how she elaborated each report.
The topic of the report was dealing with gender issues in driving. She gives a summary in the beginning of her page. There is a listing of her table of contents, the e-mail discussions, the journal database, a summary of someone's report and the topic on Gener and Driving issues in the Rothe Text. The topics are interesting and the content of each one is interesting. Generally, each section deals with different issues in gender.
My reaction of what the student did on her page is interesting. I like how she would summarize summarize a report, and the e-mail discussions were implemented in her page. It's good to have other people's commentary on a summary especially with this topic, gender issues in driving. I could have done the same thing of what she did. The content of what impressed me was the other people's discussion or commentary on the topic. The other sites that I saw generally, states their own opinion whereas in her Web page emphasizes not just her opinion but other people's comments. I thought this was original, and nothing was left out. I propose to advance this topic by adding more e-mail discussions and maybe some visual aides.
Comparisons to others' reports from G9
The reports that I selected compared to the other generations has more clarity and organization. Tamar has shown how to compose a good page and it was easier for me to find somethings that I needed.
Report #2:
How
Music Affects Drivers: Driving to a Different Beat by Grace Lumabao
G8/459 Spring '98 - Traffic Psychology
I chose this student's report because at first because I was impressed by her icons that was displayed. Her content looked efficient and simple to understand. I like the topic that is being discussed about Music and Driving. The topic caught my eye also because I can relate to it.
The steps that led me this report
The steps that led me to this report was that I browsed through generation 8 for both 409 and 459 and I spent about 20-30 minutes on each web page. I thought that all the pages were interesting, although some of them were harder to read than others. I finally picked this page not because of the icons displayed, but rather it was simple and easy to read. The other reports were not as organized as this one.
The topic of the report that was discussed were the influences of music towards driving. Each student from the other generations wrote their comments on how music affects their driving. Some of them describes about their experience in their bad habits in driving when listening to upbeat and hype music. Others have good habits when driving to relaxing and calm music. In the first section shows the instructions for the report. In the second content posts the G7-Email from other classmates about driving. Then websites and newsgroups on music, and also a generational look at music and driving written by the reports by Ross Simafranca and Sheldon Tawata. Finally, she includes the Rothe Textbook, references, class comparisons and conclusions.
My reaction and involvement of what the student did was that it gave me an idea of what to look for in creating something in my web page. I like how she included people's experience when listening to music. She gives an opinion of a person listening to head-banging, alternative music and how it affects a person how they drive. This leads into road rage and aggressive driving. I thought it was neat how she alternate the topics of good music with good habit and bad music with bad habit in driving. I could have done the same thing of what she had created. The content that impressed me the most is the opinions of others that was included in her report, and also the icons. Her page looks original, and I don't think anything was left out in her page. If I come across something interesting that would relate to this topic, then I would propose to advance it.
Comparisons to others' reports from G8
The comparison of this report to the others in the same generation is that this page looked organized and simple. Also, the icons made the page interesting. When I came across this site it made me see the originality and simpleness. The differences compared to the other reports were that the icons were used more in this report, and the similarities that were presented were the same. Some had similar topics, while others used another approach. Appearance wise, it looked organized and neat. The content of the report looked efficient, simple and thorough.

#3: Psychology
of Online Virtual Relationship G8/409a - Cyberspace Psychology
I chose this student's report because the appearance of the page looked very neat and organized. The topic that was discussed was very interesting and caught my appeal. The first thing that caught my attention was the beautiful icons on the pages and also the summary on the literacy discussions group. The online interaction link is also interesting because it takes you to travel forums, nature forums, and teacher talk forums. There is also game rooms and chat rooms that also appealed to me.
The steps that led me this report
The steps that led me to this report took me awhile. I looked at generation 8 under Cyberspace Psychology. I looked at several reports that looked interesting. Some were not organized as others. I was trying to choose this page with this other page that I thought was interesting. I spent about 35-35 minutes looking at some of them. I finally picked this page because it gave me a clear insight of the links that were presented. The information was thorough and easy to read.
The topic of Czarina's report is on Psychology of Online Virtual Relationship. It gave me a clear insight of how relationships online can be a good way to know people and their similarities, but at the same dangerous. First of all, there is the instructions for the report. Secondly, there is the summary on Listsery Discussion Group, online and offline interactions, other people's newsgroups, her comparison of Czarina's report from the rest of the class, and also her suggestions for future generations. Each part contains information on online virtual relationships.
My reaction and involvement of this student's report is that I learned more things than before. Just like her, I'm very computer illiterate. I need some time to adapt to the computer world. However, I think that she did a great job in putting things in organized format and also coordinating the icons, colors on the pages, and many more things. As I kept on browsing, I noticed some things that I haven't learned before. Overall, I think that her web page is efficient and consistent. I thought that her page was original, although everyone uses people's information in designing their own web page.
Comparisons to others' reports from G8
In comparison with the other classmates in Czarina's generation, I thought that everyone had a nice a thorough page. Everyone designed their page differently as others. The format of the table of contents, mining the generational curriculum, the reports and newsgroups were the same but in different fonts and colors. The differences from this page compared to the others I think is that they all have originality. I see each page and everyone seems to be different from others. Either by organization or content. Each cover is different, and also with their appearance and content.

#4: Psychology
409: Cyber-Psychology - Mary Elizabeth Pacheco - Psy 409bf97
I chose Mary's report because of how her web page was set up. It looked interesting with all the different designs and links. Her web page looks organized and thorough. It gives a summary for each link and it is also insightful. There were some reports that looked insightful, but not as organized as this one.
The steps that led me this report
I went to the generations home page and I chose in the column of cyberspace, generation 7b. I looked at 4-5 different reports, and I spent at least 20-30 minutes looking at each one. It took me awhile, to figure out what report I should choose. I finally decided to pick Mary's page because the design looks cool and her links were easy to follow. It was easy to understand and thorough.
The topic of the report starts with the definition of "cyberpsychology," then followed by the exploration of the generation, bookmark files, and newsgroup reports. The report shows different links of cyberspace psychology. There are also people's opinion on this topic.
My reaction and involvement of what the student did was that I learned something about cyberpsychology. It was informative when the student had put the definition of cyberspace psychology. The content and presentation format was insightful due to the links. I thought that this student's page was original and informative. There are many issues of online relationships and other issues.
