CARTOON 1

How We Delight Ourselves In Getting Upset At Those Who Actually Abide By The Law

This driving cartoon was inspired by a self-witnessing testimony by Heidi Easley.

Through humor, this cartoon shows how people, including myself, become unjustifiably angered by law abiding drivers. In this cartoon, one drivers stops at a yellow light and the person behind becomes irate and mad. The driver is mad at the fact that the first driver did not go through the yellow light.
This behavior of getting mad at someone else can be explained by the selfish view everyone has. Everyone thinks of each situation in relation to themselves. People have to understand that there are more people in this world then just themselves. Everybody thinks and reasons differently and we have to keep that in mind when we become angered at others on the road. There is more then "our way" of looking at situations. People should especially not become angered at those who choose to follow the law.
This cartoon shows how ridiculous this kind of behavior, that even I display, really is. One should not become upset at someone who follows the laws of the road. So what if you are in a rush to get to work, or if you are late for a date, that is no reason to take it out on other drivers. It is this corrupt way of thinking which accentuates the United States driving problem.
