This is an one minute clip including two different bad driving incidents. The Simpson family consists of five members: Homer and Marge, (mother and father) and their children, Bart, Lisa, and Maggie. The three children are watching television and the cartoon playing was the "Itchy and Scratchy Show"-not very educational! This show is about a cat and a mouse always trying to kill each other. While the children are watching TV, Homer is driving to work and trying to find a stall in the parking lot.
Description of Bad Driving:
First incident-During the cartoon the three kids were watching the cat trying to kill the mouse and as the cat was running from the mouse, the cat runs onto the road an in a split second he gets runned over by a speeding truck. Besides being gross, the Simpson kids watching the show are laughing very hard at this scene.
Second incident-Homer Simpson was late for work again and speeds into a public parking stall, almost hitting a pedestrian.
Homer didn't slow down, he just chased the pedestrian until the person moved out of the way.
To top that off, Homer yelled at the pedestrian for being in the way.
Influence Others?:
This show can be very influencing, especially for children. These children should not be watching this show but I'm sure many parents let their kids watch this cartoon. Since Lisa and Bart laughed at the the cat getting smashed by the car, other children watching this show probably think that's funny also. When in reality it's really disgusting and inhumane. This show also portrays the pedsetrian being at fault all the time-like people shouldn't be walking where your driving. There are many other bad influencing things this show gives out to the public besides the driving incidents. I also hope everyone realizes that these clips are just for entertainment purposes and it's not funny in real-life. In actuality, it's very dangerous, and many people can get hurt.
Influence Me?:
Although I hate cats, I really have no desire to run one over-that's disgusting! I also know the pedestrian has the right of way, even if they don't, I would stop for them and not chase them with my car. Those things are just not natural instincts. The one thing I can relate to is the speeding to work aspect. Speeding always seems like the most acted upon thing to do. People, including myself, should keep in mind once your late, your late, and speeding can get you into trouble to be more late. You can get pulled over by a police officer or even worse, you can get into an accident. One of the worst places to be speeding is in a parking lot, you can't see the pedestrians comming out from behind the cars. People should be very careful when it comes to these situations, many people can get hurt.
