Scene from a TV series

Description of Characters:

Chris Lorenzo is a homicide investigator trying to catch and arrest two killers who are threatening to kill an innocent woman they took hostage. Chris is chasing the killers in a public parking lot with a lot of other cars and pedestrians. This scene lasts for about a minute.

Description of Bad Driving:

  • Both cars are speeding through a public parking lot.
  • No one is buckled in their seat belts.
  • The killers are watching Chris in the mirrors rather than watching the road.
  • Both cars are weaving in and out of parked cars and pedestrians.
  • The killers drive onto another parked car and flips their car over.
  • Influence Others?:

This car scene may influence many people including children, adolescence and even adults. Many young children think chase scenes are exciting and they tend to want to mimic them. They like these scenes because of all the action, nobody gets hurt and the good guys always win. This may be one of the reasons why so many young children and adolescence want to become police men, they always end up to be Winners! Many people look up to these actors and actresses as role-models and see them doing these dangerous stunts, thinking that's cool! But in reality many people can get hurt or even killed.

    Influence Me?:

Although I must admit these chase scenes make the show exciting but people need to also realize how dangerous they really are. These scenes may not have a great influence for me to act upon, but I know some things have been imitated in real life, such as speeding. I must admit, I have caught myself speeding several times and noticed it doesn't surprise me, it almost feels natural. I hope all drivers realize the dangers of this scene and becomes more aware of what kind of actions they tend to immitate.
