Generational Curriculum

1. Site Information

This link will give you an overview of Leon James' home page. He explains what to expect from his various links. This should give you an idea of how to go about exploring his page. At the very least it tells you the intent of each link. I recommend visiting this site first, it will set you up for the rest of the page.

2. Leon's Index

This link is where you need to be if you are looking for a topic, word, antelope whatever. This link gives you five options for finding items. The first search is by an index of documents. With 270 documents to choose from you may need to block off several hours to explore this index. Not a practical way to search for a topic, but hey, if you have a few days to kill why not? The second option will give you a list of full Text Articles and Books by Leon James. This is a great research tool since a short description of each article is given. Again it is an extensive list so be prepared. The next search option called the Index of All documents on this site will list all the home pages of previous students. (Note: if you thought the others were long you haven't seen anything yet!) This is a very useful site since some of the links in the student reports no longer work, however looking through each one again isn't very practical. This brings me to the next link, my favorite. The fourth option will allow you to search by keywords, concepts, and names. This was the best in my opinion. When you go to the site you simply type in the word or words you are interested in and let the computer do the rest. You can even narrow the search by confining it to a specific generation search. How cool! Last but not least, the last index is an alphabetical list of topics, just in case the particular word failed to bring up anything in the search index.

3. Dr. Driving

This site will give you statistics on some grim driving hazards. There are also other links to the latest news and interviews with Dr. Driving. My favorite part is the Random Acts of Kindness link. These stories gives you that warm fuzzy feeling along with hope for the world. This site also gives you other links to Acts of Kindness. If you have and act of kindness story by all means add it to his page. But if you don't see anything else check out the symbolic logo of Dr. Driving. It's funny but the picture reminds me of someone...hmmm...well it will eventually come to me. Anyway, click on the picture to understand the symbolism. There is also about a million links on this site, when I get to them all I'll let you know.

4. Generational Files

On your first click you can choose to look at either the traffic psychology students report, Cyber-psychology students reports, the Daily Round Archives (with tour guide), or you can read three articles on the generational Curriculum Project. This is a great place to start your research and see how previous generations did their reports.

5. Traffic Psychology

This site gives you the principals and information on traffic psychology. For example you are appraised on its origin, its importance, and the technique of giving yourself a driving persona make over. It also tells of the importance in self-witnessing reports and how we are usually unaware of our true self. This is a highly informative page but extremely long. It makes a great research site.

6. Cyber Psychology

For those of you with technophobia you simply must check out this site. Dr. James tries to dispel the myths about cyber space. This site accentuates the positive and describes all its benefits. An interesting integration of thought and technology.

7. Social Psychology of Home Page Architecture

This site introduces the birth of the home page. Dr. James also talks about concerns when he first started his journey to the computer age. I suggest visiting the site to see that all our stressful hair pulling nights may eventually end. Have hope.

8. Diane Nahl's Search Index

When you first click on this site you will find a forwarding address but don't be alarmed. All you need to do is make an extra click and you're there. Remember all that talk about search engines? Well, here is where you can find some, along with other clickable topics including, Hawaii Sites, Fun Sites, and Student Papers. This is a page where it's easy to find things with the click of a mouse. Simple...direct...I like it.

9. Leon's Address

This is simply Dr. James' UH address, email address, and his home page. Oh yeah, if you have comments here's where you can leave them. Very convenient and quick.

10. Leon's List of Publications

For some reason this site does not work. Try back at a later date.

11. Swedenborg Home Page Hawaii

This is a modern shrine to the late psychologist Emanuel Swedenborg. I know we are supposed to go to the end of every link, but I don't think it will fit on the page. However it does give you Swedenborg's theories in some detail. The spiritual side, including marriages is expressed here. This was an interesting site but it was strange to find it here, we go from cyber- space to a spiritual end.

12. Tour Guides

This page gives you three options, Introduction for Newbies, Daily Round Archives, and Nutrition and Exercise Papers. You can click endlessly here but very informative. This will take you through examples of papers to see what to expect. It also gives you a great feel for the web.

13. Spiritual Psychology

A shortcut to Swedenborg's theories on spiritual psychology. This page also has a table of contents with his theories. This site is very to the point and efficient.

14. Daily Round Archives (DRA)

The (DRA) are the collection of previous student reports. This site allows you to connect to the home pages of previous students, very well organized.

15. Text Articles and Books by Leon James

This site will give you the titles of Dr. James' articles and give you a brief description of what each is about. I like the set up of the page. It is extremely well organized leaving no confusion. Dr. James has made it easy to research a particular topic.

16. University of Hawaii Home Page

The UH home page gives you easy access to everything that UH has to offer on the internet. It is very eye catching and well developed. You will find everything here from events to the weather with the click of a mouse.

17. Search by Key Words, Concepts, or Names

This is just a shortcut to my favorite index of Dr. James. If you are looking for a particular word this is where you want to be.

18. For Earlier or Text Only Browsers

This link gives you the list of links on Dr. James' home page. The simple style is easy to understand. It is very basic, perhaps it needs some color.
