Statement About This Site Site information for Leon James' home page mentions a little bit about traffic psychology, cyberpsychlolgy and spiritual psychology. Under each of the three categories, there are reports that can be accessed. For example, under Swedenborg's Spiritual Psychology Zone, there are many articles that discuss Swedenborg's approach to spiritual and rational psychology.
reaction: This site can be very useful if you're seeking information about traffic psychology, cyberpsychology or spiritual psychology. This site lets you know what kind of home pages you can expect to find concerning these three topics.
Indexes For This Site Gives a list of five options for finding things on this site. Also included is a long student index. For instance, I looked under alzheimers and drivers. Under alzheimers and drivers, I found things like statistics and the different stages of the dementia. There is also a topical index to cybercommunity students. Included at this site is an extensive list of topics to be explored.
reaction: This site is also very useful when looking for information. What I found very useful at this site was the link called "search...." This link enabled me to type in just about any topic I pleased thus enabling me to access information quickly.
Student Generational Reports At this site, there are many student reports dealing with traffic psychology and cyberpsychology. Being able to access student reports is very useful. By looking at other reports can provide me with many examples and information. Information that I will be using for both my reports will be found in previous reports done by previous generations.
reaction: I am going to do my first report on quality driving circles. I found many examples of QDC reports in G5. Being able to look at reports gave me an idea as to how my report should be set up. It's interesting and useful to view reports from previous classes. Being able to see the many different and colorful home pages was fascinating.
Traffic Psychology At this site, principles of traffic psychology as well as the origins of traffic psychology are mentioned. At this site, so much information is presented. It took me over forty minutes to browse through everything. This site really helps when trying to understand what traffic psychology is all about. What I found especially interesting was the information pertaining to being a facilitative driver and a reformed driver.
reaction: The main thing I didn't like about this site was that it was a little too long. But overall, this site was very interesting. Just about everything you will ever need to know about traffic psychology can be found at this site. The tables and charts used at this site made explanations of complex concepts much easier. I have a feeling that I will be coming back to this site many times throughout the semester.
Cyber Psychology Cyberpsychology is a very long site. There is a table of contents and an extensive index. A lot of information pertaining to hypertext and virtual reality is presented at the cyberpsychology site. Under the index, I clicked on technophobia because of the fact that I am extremely technophobic. There wasn't much information about technophobia itself. Only a brief definition was presented.
reaction: I liked using the extensive indexes at the different sites. The indexes made finding information ten times faster and easier. I don't think this site will be as useful as the traffic psychology site. The reason is because our class deals mainly with traffic psychology.
Social Psychology of Home Page Architecture Under this site, I found the information pertaining to the function of home pages and the function of links very useful. Prior to looking at this site, my idea of what a home page should look like and how a link functions was a bit unclear. Reading about them under this site helped me better understand.
reaction: Information concerning the function of home pages and the function of links were very useful. I had no idea what a home page actually was or what it should look like. This site helped me greatly in understanding what a home page is and the purpose it serves. I didn't know exactly what a link was until I browsed through this site.
Diane Nahl's Search Index Diane Nahl's search index allows you to access things like student papers, articles and publications. She also gives a surfing list. Under this list, I was able to access things like weather forecasts by cities and regions. This was fun. I was also able to explore the cities around the world on the world wide web.
reaction: There are so many things to look at and explore at Diane Nahl's site. One thing that I especially liked about this particular site was that I could access things like the weather and the surf report. This site was one of the more fun ones.
Search This site allows you to access information by key words. This was very similar to using CARL at the library, only much quicker.
reaction: Finding information about just about anything is made easy at this site. The good thing is that it takes just a few seconds!
University of Hawaii This site allows you to access a whole bunch of information like leisure activities, weather and also general information regarding the University of Hawaii. This site would be very useful for students or residents who are new or unfamiliar with Hawaii or the University. So far, this site is my favorite. The main reason is because there are so many things to explore and so much information to uncover. I found it amazing how I was able to access the Honolulu Star Bulletin online. There is so much that can be accessed through this site.
reaction: At this site, I spent almost an entire hour just browsing and having fun. To a visitor or tourist, this site provides useful information like leisure activities, news, weather, events and university services. I didn't know it was possible to actually look at the weather conditions on line!
Full Text Articles and Books There were so many things to be looked at at this site. A full collection of articles and books regarding cyberpsychology and the Swedenborg concepts are accessible. I clicked under the glossary of Swedenborg concepts and found a whole bunch of things regarding spiritual psychology and spiritual marriage and growth. This site would be very useful if learning about Swedenborg is something that you're interested in.
reaction: This site is very much like a library on line. There are a large number of books and articles that can be accessed through this site. Very useful if you're looking for information concerning cyberpsychology or Swedenborg's concepts.
Spiritual Psychology There are three separate parts to the Spiritual Psychology site. At the site, there is just about everything you need to know about spiritual psychology. Part one refers back to Swedenborg's views and the human body as a micro-cosmos. Much of the information presented at this site was pretty foreign to me. It was very similar to reading a psychology text book. Being able to click back and forth between part one, two and three was very convenient.
reaction: This site was rather boring. I didn't find Swedenborg's concepts entertaining or interesting. It was almost as if I was listening to a philosopher. Because of this, I didn't remain at this site for more than a few minutes.
Daily Round Archives At the Daily Round Archives site, there is an index of student home pages. There are also on line articles relating to the Daily Round Archives. It was fun to go into the home pages of other students and just browse and read their work. I didn't find anything that was related to Quality Driving Circles or the speed limit debate. Nevertheless, it was still enjoyable to read the work of others.
reaction: The best part about this site was that I was able to access other students' home pages. Reading the work of others is always fun and sometimes very entertaining.
Tour Guides At this site, there are two tours that can be clicked on and explored. After clicking on Tour 1, I found something that was very useful. I found reports that were done by generation 5. There were a few students who wrote about Quality Driving Circles. By reading some of the reports, I got a better feel and understanding as to what a Quality Driving Circle is and what they try to accomplish.
reaction: The thing that I liked the best about this site was the nutrition home page. Besides the amazing graphics, I was able to access information concerning other peoples' thought about exercise and nutrition. It was fun to see what many of them had to say.
Swedenborg Home Page Hawaii More here about Spiritual Marriage and Growth and Spiritual Psychology and Science. This site was pretty extensive. There were so many things to be clicked on and explored. A lot of information at this site is very similar to the site titled Statement About This Site. Reading about Swedenborg wasn't too entertaining. Perhaps this was because I have never heard of him before and I am unfamiliar with his work.
reaction: This site was a little boring too. I looked at his picture and left.
Dr. Driving Says Dr. Driving's site was impressive. I liked the many different colors and the interesting statistics that were presented. Statistics provide enthusiasm to read further. I especially liked the link titled Traffic Violence. Dr. Driving suggests that traffic violence is due impaired mental health. I agree. To help solve the problem of traffic violence, drivers need to improve on their affective skills. It's important for all of us to recognize our resistance and strive to resist retaliation in stressful situations. We all need to self monitor ourselves while driving. It is important to think the entire situation through and react rationally. This site is very useful when it comes to gathering statistics and facts.
reaction: This site was perhaps the most informative. I liked the statistics that were initially presented. Providing the reader with useful statistics is always an effective way of capturing their attention and interest. I was very interested and entertained.
