Mv Standardized Imagining

A. INTERIOR DIALOGUE

(i) Overlays of Comments to Self

"I'm in class reviewing the test we just took two days ago in my TIM class. I see a few places where I chanced the answer and found out that the first answer was the correct one. I feel so stupid; I start to swear to myself, "You fucken stupid asshole! Why did you change the answer in the first place. I feel stupidity."

(ii) Value Expressions

"I'm in the Bus.Ad studying room, studying for a Physics test which is next period, The two girls on the other table are gossiping and laughing out loud It's getting very annoying and inside I feel myself ready to swear at them and tell them, "Eh! Fuck! Why don't you go outside and talk while other people are trying to study." Instead I get up and leave the room to study somewhere else."

(iii) Preparing Schedules

"I'm in my room planning out what I should do the next day. I have to go to the doctors in town, come back into Pearl City to pick up my girlfriend and take her to the store to go shopping, take my mother to my grandmother's house, my friend said to come over to his house in the afternoon so I could fix his car. Somedays there seems to be so many things to do in such a small amount of time. These are days when you have to plan out a tentative schedule of what you are going to do the next morning. I feel like just splitting my self up to go to the different places "

(iv) Reviewing/Making Plans and Lists

"I'm ready to do the grocery shopping for the day. I open the closet and review what we have in them. I wrote down on a piece of paper a list of the things I have to buy, Sometimes I wonder to myself why I have to do the shopping. I guess I do it to help out my parents because both of them work. Sometimes I have the problem of whether or not we need anymore of that thing or not It's a real headache to decide what to get."

(v) Emotionalizing Episodes

"I'm playing softball and everybody is hitting the ball. It's my turn at bat and I strike out. Everyone is laughing at me and saying, "You sure you know how play softball. I feel embarrassed walk back slowly to the bench. I'm mad at myself in the inside, I feel stupid for not even getting a hit. Inside I keep on calling myself stupid, "you so slow it pittyful."

(vi) Rehearsals and Practicing

"I'm practicing my Kung Fu in one of my classes. Sometimes I wonder to myself if learning this kind of art will really help me in a fight. I keep on thinking that if I get into a fight and use these things I've learned and I still get beat up, that all this time practicing was a waste of time and I could be doing other more enjoyable things."

(vii) Annotationsl Memorizings, Editings

"I'm trying to memorize things in the book, getting ready to take a Psy. test tommorrow. Sometimes I think to myself if staying up late to menorize these things is worth it. It doesn't guarentee that you will get an A for the test, and it doesn't mean that you
