Introduction

This report is comprised based on two episodes, one is when I was at Aloha Stadium watching U.H. games, and the other was when I went to Bank of Hawaii in Ewa Beach. It seems to me that if a person wants to solve the problem, he must insist in finding to solve the problem until he finds a good answer in order to be satisfied. So, what I did was to find all the solutions so that I can find the right answer on all the problems I am encountering.

Last October 22, 1977 at 6:00 p.m. I went to Aloha Stadium to watch the University of Hawaii games. When I came there were no seats available along the side of the mauka sidelines. I have seen some people hold many seats by placing various objects on the seats. When I complained to the usher, he said, "Sorry for the inconvenience because he can't do anything right that moment about this problem."

It seems to me that something must be done to solve this unfair practice because after all, these were not reserved seats is what I am talking about. Why can't they do it the other way on a first-come first-served basis concerning this problem? Later on when I check with the stadium management official, I got an answer to them that next time they play the game, the stadium management official would be strict on their policy on the practice of seats in the stadium. In addition, the usher has been instructed to monitor this problem.

Last October 11, 1977 I went to the Ewa Beach Bank of Hawaii to cash my check. When I arrived, there were two rows of lines. I saw five windows but only three tellers were open. The other two were closed. So what I did, I fall in line anyway to see how long this will take to cash my check. I waited almost thirty minutes before I arrived in the teller window. I told the teller, how come the other three windows were closed and lots of people were waiting in line. She said, that there is a certain time that a certain teller is on duty while they are at lunch. Why can't they open the other two windows while the line was very long during the busy hours? They said it is also to the management who is responsible concerning this problem.

When I interviewed my wife, she had a problem. Her problem is to bring her mother here in Hawaii. But since she went home in the Philippines when her father died, she encouraged her mother to come here in Hawaii so that her mother could stay with us. So what my wife did was to send her mother the necessary papers in order that her mother can come to Hawaii .

My car mates have a problem with his course in engineering because when I interview him, he said that the course is getting harder. He is in his senior year now here at Manoa. He told me also that even though he works on it, he never finishes all of his assignments because they are very long assignments every time his professor gives him a take-home problem. He said, that the only way to solve this problem is to stay at home most of the time, don't go anywhere on weekends, and just do his homework. He said, it is just like a person is isolated in one place and no time for recreation. In addition, from the time we leave the house in the morning and arriving in Manoa parking lot, we always have this problem about his assignment. Also they work with classmates in engineering when they have time, in order to help solve this problem.

When I interview my friend, he said he wants to go to the mainland in order to look for a good paying job. He is a carpenter and he has been here for almost three years. He said that on the mainland, he has a better opportunity in his line of work. But he changed his mind. He wants to own his own business and he is interested in opening a used car lot and have his own body repair shop. So, last October 17,1977, he left Hawaii because he was not satisfied with his work here.

In conclusion, in order to solve the problems in a persons daily activities, he must go thru the problem and seek the right answer of why can't they do it the other way. I think in doing the finding of the right solution, he can illuminate some of the tension from the other people who are involved in their activities.
