Maybe "road rage" is "rrhoid
rage"! What about all those guys who stop atThe donut shop, buy a big bran
muffin, a big coffee, stuff their faces, andThen get stuck on the freeway for
three hours. Do the math!
that's all...
And learn to pray alot on the road while you're driving these highways
that's all
And learned how NOT to let them road ragers get to you- slow down-let them
pass- get over into another lane and let them pass stop on a secondary road
and let them pass
-----------------------------------------
Things NOT to do to aggravate a road rager- flip him or her off (if do so-
QUICK! Get out your bullet proof jacket for anything goes!
Or tap your brake lights several times to ~try~ to get those road ragers from
riding your butt/ car butt-that is.... and then get prepared to having your
rear end literally pushed out of the way... or start
those game-bumper car rides....
Or if you pass some jerk going WAY too slow and he gets pissed off at you for
passing him then at the next red light- he proceeds to throw stuff at your
car- you can:
- #1 run away quicklike after deciding "hey! we got a loose one here!
-
#2 if he
follows you after that-proceed to the nearest police department-if in town and
make that sorry monkey pay!!! that is IF he's got the guts to hang around ya
still...
But this olly but goodie person basically prays A LOT-if not more
My Analysis
This man seems to have lots of ideas about what to do
while you are driving. He seems to feel that other drivers are extremely mean
and hostile. He feels that you should pray a lot when you drive and that you
should wear a bullet proof vest because another driver may shoot you. In my
opinion, this driver seems really paranoid and I think that maybe as a child
he was withdrawn. Because I remember reading and talking about (during my oral
report) the fact that withdrawn children always perceive othersâ intentions as
being hostile even when they are not hostile at all. This driver also seems to
have a lot of aggressive feelings towards people who drive slowly. He sounds
like he has a lot of issues to work out with himself. I hope that he doesnât
drive too often! He seems to get overly excited about things.

Long hair and peripheral vision
Date: 04/13/2000
Just so you know I'm not a one-issue candidate, I've been noticing a unique
(apparent) driving hazard that isn't speed-related.
I see many women (and some men) with long hair that obscures their peripheral
vision. When you see them from the side, or slightly to the rear, you can't
see any part of their eyes. This would seem to block a critical aspect of
vision that mirrors can't cover. Has anyone heard about crashes caused by long
hair or weird hairstyles? [C.E.T.]

Good thinking, there should definitely be a maximum hair length for drivers. I
will write to the government immediately.

Actually it's not so much length, as how it hangs in one's face. Those stupid
floppy hairstyles are the worst.
As for your sarcasm, I was not suggesting any sort of regulation, just
pointing out something logical. Safety isn't a big conspiracy. [C.E.T.]

Actually, I used to have long hair, and yes, it was occasionally annoying when
doing head-checks to change lanes. More annoying was when I wound the window
up, to have my flowing locks caught in it. Either way, my driving in general
in those days was pretty abysmal (typical young hoon that I was) and I don't
think it made a huge difference, in terms of safety. (just took you a moment
to get hair out of eye.) Of course, hair band or cap would be useful. Or
sunglasses for that matter... [http://www.altavista.com ]
My Analysis
I think that C.E.T.
has a legitimate concern about hair sometimes being a problem when driving.
Sometimes when I am driving with the window down and my hair is not up in a
bun/ponytail, my hair flies into my eyes and causes a bit of a problem because
I canât see as clearly when I have my hair (which is pretty long) blocking my
vision. I can see where C.E.T. would be concerned with that. And I think that
it is a problem that can affect both women as well as men because I have seen
a lot of men with long hair that could possibly block their vision while
driving.
When I think about it even more, I am realizing that a
lot of people over look hair as being a concern when driving. I think that
cookie_pussâ sarcasm was uncalled for and that she is probably just irritated
because she has long hair and thinks that C.E.T.âs concern is stupid. I think
that people like cooke_puss should open up their minds a little more and
really think about what could happen if their hair was actually blocking their
vision. It would be pretty sad if cookie-_puss actually got into an accident
because of his/her hair!

Highway 880 Off-Ramp
Closed Between Hayward/Union City
The California Highway Patrol reports that the westbound Tennyson Road
off-ramp on Interstate 880 between Hayward and Union City is blocked by an
overturned Land Cruiser.
A spokesman said the vehicle flipped over at 9:09 a.m. Two CHP units and an
ambulance are on the scene, but the driver reports no injuries.
Did the vehicle tip over because they tried to take the ramp too fast? If so,
then stupid this person is.
Support your local Search and Rescue Unit - get lost.
My Analysis
Obviously this person has very bad feelings towards
people that drive SUVs. This person isnât even thinking about any other
possibilities of why the vehicle flipped over. He is just assuming that the
driver tried to take the ramp too fast. I think that this person has some
serious issues about driving and the types of cars other people drive. It is
horrible that this person feels that the driver is ăstupidä for being in a SUV
that flipped over. This person is acting as if the driver of the SUV was just
being careless and speeding. Maybe the driver of the SUV had a heart attack or
maybe something else bad happened to them. This person is cruel to tell the
driver to do the local search and rescue unit a favor and ăget lostä.

Tickets: Any Truth to this?
Date: 2000/04/08
I don't know if this
really works, but it is worth trying. Or it's an urban myth...
I tried to pass this
on to anyone I could think of. I know for a fact that this works so if you
ever get in this situation, you have an out. This procedure works in any
state. Read it and try it, you have nothing to lose but the points in your
license.
If you get a speeding ticket or went through a red light or whatever the case
may be, and you are going to get points on your license, then there is a
method to ensure that you DO NOT get any points.
When you get your fine, send in the check to pay for it and if the fine is
say $79, then make the check out for $82 or some small amount above the fine.
The system will then have to send you back a check for the difference, but
here is the trick!
DO NOT CASH THE REFUND CHECK !! Throw it away! Points are not assessed to
your license until all the financial transactions are complete. If you do not
cash the check, then the transactions are not complete. However the system has
gotten its money so it is happy and will not bother you any more.
My Analysis
I think that whoever thought up this scam is horrible. It seems like that
think that itâs okay to speed when they are driving because the only thing
they will have to do is pay a fee and nothing else will happen to them. It is
almost like this person is saying that it is okay to get speeding tickets. And
this person seems like they have no respect for driving. I feel that this
person is a dangerous driver on the road.

If you like to
drive fast and would like the added protection of a radar detector, please
visit [WWW.RicheyWholesale.Com ] for the latest wholesale radar detectors.
My Analysis
I think that
ăRicheyWholesaleä is a horrible person. He is making it easier for drivers to
speed by providing radar detectors to them. Itâs like heâs helping people
speed and not get caught. I think that speeding is extremely dangerous. I was
in an accident and the car was going eighty miles per hour and it was not a
great experience at all.
When people speed I think that they have a much greater
chance at getting into an accident. So why would anyone want to help people
speed? In my opinion, this man should think more about what kinds of products
he sells because in the long run I feel that these radar detectors would be
more harmful than helpful to drivers.

Lane splitting Re: Crazy Bicyclist Stories
Date: 04/13/2000
The slightest veer of
a car (to see around stalled traffic or whatever) can cause a tragedy. How can
they possibly predict what the drivers ahead will do?
You can't. And that's why a careful rider will only lane-split under certain
conditions. If traffic is crawling along at five mph and you're splitting at
say 15 mph, you can easily stop in time if some ignorant twat veers to the
side or opens the door. If traffic is moving say 35 mph, if you can't stop the
bike in time to avoid an incident as mentioned above, you probably shouldn't
be lane-splitting.
OK then lets' talk about all they times they DO do it under unsafe conditions!
Why is it that whenever someone brings up a safety issue people want to talk
about everything _but_ the risky circumstance? That's why these "debates" go
around in circles. [C.E.T.]
My Analysis
I feel that drivers in
general do not care as much as they should about people who ride bicycles to
get around. Drivers donât seem to pay much attention to them unless a
bicyclist gets in their way. Whenever I ride with any of my friends and we
pass someone on a bicycle, my friends always make some kind of comment like
ăMove out of the wayä, when the person on the bike is not even bothering them.
The fact that drivers feel this way about bicyclists makes riding a bike more
dangerous than in already is.
I have ridden a bike to the mall a few times and it is pretty scary because I noticed that cars do not look out for people on bikes as much as they look out for other people in cars. The people who commented on bicyclists in the newsgroups also seem to share the same opinion about people who ride bicycles. Then seem to think that people who ride bicycles are in more danger then regular drivers and that when people ride bikes they donât really have safe conditions. I feel that people should try to change their attitudes towards bike riders and show them more courtesy on the road.
