Cyberspace
"Generational Curriculum and Cyberspace"
Generation #1. Contains my reaction to
the student Homepages that I
visited.
Generation #2: My reactions to the Homepages
that I visited.
Generation #3: My thoughts and feelings
about the student Homepages that I visited.
Generation #3a: Thoughts and feelings about
the Homepage sites that I visited.
My reaction to being in Dr. James
class on the Internet in
Psychology #409a:
Just a note that I provided for
and to future generations on the Internet or Dr. James classes.

Generation One on the Internet:
This Generational Curriculum class is the class that introduces us to
the Internet. I guess one can say, they are the experimental group of
Social Psychology on the Internet with Dr. James. This class is the base
of all the Generational Curriculum classes dealing with Dr. James.
I give this generation credit for all the hard work that they have
done. Without them, I wouldn't know how or where to start in creating a
Web Site. However, one thing that I did notice is that they have long
reports that take time to load. So be warned, be very patient and cool
headed when loading their reports and files. Remember they are the first
ones on the Internet and they didn't have the knowledge that we now have
from them.
Grant Harada's Homepage. I think it's so interesting to have many links
that takes one to different areas and places for people to view within your
reports and files. I really like this Topical Index because it's so easy
to access what I want to see and read within his reports. Having links to
other poeple's glossaries is a link that I find useful. It contains words
that will help to understand the Internet.
Kyle Fujii's Homepage. I thought I'd include him in my report because
he claims he doesn't have too much friends. However, for a guy that
doesn't have many friends, his homepage was quite humorous to me. Check
it out for yourself. I really enjoyed reading his Last Will and Testament.
I think this is a good way to end the class because people will understand
how you felt and thought about them. Gives me an Idea, since this is my
last semester here at UH. I think I'll create such a sight if and when I
have the time to do so. I think my classmates will appreciate my last
message to them.
Homepage of Beverly Diaz. I think her homepage is good because it all
fits on three screens. Her homepage is really defined and has annotations
to all her weekly reports. I like her "Tigger" picture (The one from Winnie
The Pooh). Visit her fun links if you have time. I really enjoyed them.
Generation #2
Here one can find three different approaches to creating a Homepage. I
liked the way each person in this generation created their Homepage and
the style they created while being the second generation on the Internet.
I'm from the third generation on the Internet in Traffic Psychology, I
didn't realize that the second Generational Curriculum students were so
creative in creating a Homepage with graphics and backgrounds. They
really started and inspired the rest of the Generational Curriculum
classes with Dr. James on the Internet. I really give the second
Generational Curriculum students a thumbs up in both Traffic and Cyber
Psychology because without them we wouldn't be so creative. Thank you
guys!
Lori
Morita's Homepage site: She's the person I visited for Netscape
background colors and search engines. She's also a friend of mine. I
know her from my other Psychology classes here at the University of Hawaii.
I must give her thanks for all the help and guidance that she's given me
through last semester. Thank's Lori!
Braden
Kato's No-Nonsense Homepage. Here is a Homepage that really does mean
No-Nonsense. It contains a very plain Homepage. I like it though.
Especially his happy face icons that I copied. Hey, it's not how
creative one is, it's the contents of the reports that count. Right,
Braden?
Check
out Cynthia Yap's Homepage if you like Mickey Mouse. What a neat
Homepage with Disney written all over it. I like the way she condensed
her files by putting a linkable picture frame to get to her files,
reports, and index. Some awesome creativity I would say. I guess I'll be
visiting this site often to get ideas. Hint, hint, hint!
Generation #3
From what I experienced from going from Canaan to Vance, I found that
the order in which I presented there pages were by the creativity of the
pages. I liked all three homepages because they each represented new
and creative ideas for creating a Homepage site. By the way, Canaan,
your site is very shocking and outstanding. However, Amy has a Homepage
that reminds me of the movies that deal with Vampires. I like your
set up very much. I really think that the lines help to separate the
concept or ideas. Vance, I like the way you made your Homepage,
simple but yet eye catching.
Here
it is Canaan Machida's Homepage. Hey, Canaan your site is eye
catching, especially your bubble guy. If you want to know what I'm
talking about click to his site. Then check out his link to Canaan's
"other" Homepage if you get bored. Read it and you'll get unbored. A
little hint, I dare you to check it out. Don't blame me for the dare.
You choose to take me up on it.
Amy
Lam's Homepage. I really like her big push button. You can see it
from the other side of the room. It's eye catching to me. That's a good
way to get people's attention. I also like the way she put lines to break
each section up. It separates ideas and reports up. Amy was one of my
classmates in Traffic Psychology and this semester we are doing Research
together for Dr. James.
This
is Vance's Corner location. Check this site out to see why I choose
his site. Okay, so you don't have the time? His icons and images are
pretty cool, I like them all. His Web site is very easy to see and
understand. I wonder how he created his Vance Corner image? I have to
admit, this is the first time I've ever seen this image.
Generation #3a
from Psychology #409. These guys were crazy and brave enough to take this
challenging class during the summer session, glad they all survived. Very
wild, crazy, and brave students, no wonder they are all Psychology Majors.
Just Kidding, guys!
Hey, I noticed that this generation only had to create and write on
two reports. NOT FAIR, NOT FAIR AT ALL. Hey, generations: one, two,
three, and four A & B, these guys had it easy didn't they? Suckers, this
generation must have did something that we didn't do yet. It has to deal
with kissing something. You know what I mean. This here fails my idea
that as each generation proceeds, we are expected to be more creative and
knowledgeable than the generations before us. I guess I'll have to make a
little note that one has to put summer session into account and that they
had six weeks to create, finish their reports, and homepage.
However, I still don't see the comparison as to why we do four reports
and create a homepage while summer session people only did two reports and
a homepage. I guess because I believe in fairness. But I guess we need to
remember that this was a summer class that got lucky. YOU'RE SOOOOOO
LUCKY GENERATION #3A. Don't worry, we aren't envy of you guys, we're just
shocked on how you guys got away with just creating two reports.
LUCKY!!! I can only wish we had your luck! =)
Ronel
Agarpao's Homepage. I decided to go in Alphabetical order in this
generation to see all the creative works that occurred during the summer.
Ronel's is very clear and neat because he used tables to separate his
reports and links. I think it looks neater that way. However, it is only
my preference. Somehow, I really do believe him when he says that the
World Wide Web became his life. Perhaps because it has become apart of
mine as well now that I'm in Dr. James Cyber-psychology and research
class this semester.
Anthony
Chung's Home Page. Hungry to see what he has there? If so click to
get there. He has pictures in this site. If you're the type of person
who loves to eat and sleep; well, here's someone just like you. This
Homepage is spaced out. He has images that don't work because he doesn't
have them in his own directory. The icons that don't work are located in
Dr. James directory which the address got changed. That's what I noticed
about this generation too, they put icons, images, and pictures from Dr.
James but they didn't put it into their directory so they don't work. It's
best to put all pictures, icons, and lines into your directory because if
the site or address changes, it won't mess with your site up, like this
generation.
Ross
Takara's Homepage Site. Looks as if you're in outer space. At least
that's the effect that I get. Looks a little like 3-D. I like his icons
or images. Example, the e-mail icon. Check it out.

Reaction to the Internet:
The interesting part about looking or viewing each homepage going from
one generation to another, one can view and see the step by step creative
ideas of each student as they created their own homepage. I'm also from
generation three in Traffic Psychology on the Internet, I can honestly say
that it isn't easy to create a unique or creative homepage that I would
like because I have so many ideas and each day that goes by, my interest,
ideas, and visualization of what my homepage or reports should look like
changes. Everyday that goes by I become so overwhelmed by thoughts of how
to improve my sites on the Internet that I lose my concentration on what
needs to be done in all my classes.
It's sad to say but I still get frustrated and irritated when things
don't work out. However, I have made the improvement of getting
frustrated and irritated off myself instead of the computer. Want to know
my problems I had before? Check out my Report from Traffic Psychology,
the report contains "My Adaptation to the
Internet." Believe you me, you will definitely see my improvement
from knowing nothing about the Internet (including e-mail) to knowing how
to create reports and homepages. Don't be shocked out of your pants
because my homepages aren't as creative or outstanding like other people
in my class. Remember, I'm still trying to figure out my own
expectations on how to create a creative Homepage of my own.
I guess what I'm trying to say is that I have a hard time creating an
exciting and extravagant homepage like others because even though I have
some knowledge about the Internet, I still haven't become an expert on
creative homepages or the Internet. Perhaps it still deals with trying to
understand what everything is and why I want things a certain way. I
guess for me to understand what I'm looking for, deals with finding out
what I really want out of what I'm learning and wanting to find within the
world of Cyberspace.
Note to Future
Generations:
I can't express this advice enough, DON'T procastinate or relax in
this class what-so-ever! You'll find yourself in a big hole and not
enough time is there to fill it up to your own expectations. You will
experience anxiety, anger, frustration, stress, pressure, and every
feelings and thoughts that you can ever imagine will raise and fall upon
you in this class, so I recommend you to start early because no matter how
long you have to complete and finish your reports or projects, time will
always catch up to you. I'm not joking or kidding around with you, this
class is time consuming.
I have to tell you something, last semester was my first experience
with the Internet and e-mail. I didn't know a thing about it, until I
took Dr. James, Traffic Psychology class. This is my second semester with
Dr. James, if you think I'm nuts, just wait until you finished the course.
I wouldn't bet that you wouldn't want to take another course with Dr.
James because you may become like me, addicted to expanding your knowledge
and capacity to learn about the Internet and the Computer world that is
expanding so fast. Another point, I wouldn't be taking Dr. James,
Research class if I didn't learn or enjoy myself last semester. Just
something for you to think about while you are exploring your own quest
into the Internet world.
