Part A
Advice for Future Student and Instructor

Advice to students

It is now halfway through the semester and I am putting in a lot of hours to make the deadline. Yes it is a hassle to finish on time but no I don't hate it. In fact this is one of the few classes that I recommend to everyone. The workload is pretty heavy but most of the time it is fun to construct homepages especially if everything works.
In the beginning I was fooled by the 3 short pages with the report instructions. They seemed like nothing. Now I am wondering how so little instructions can be so much work. So my advice start hard continue hard and finish hard.
It is also very helpful to have access to a computer that is connected to the Internet. This way you can make your own schedule. Improvements can be done in any amount of time. So if you have it you can always make a quick change. However there is no need to have a computer to take this class the lab often has more programs available and also people to share the frustrations with.

Advice to the instructor

As I have seen in the different generations you have used different approaches to manage this class. All in all it seems to work pretty well. The only advice at this point (before I am graded) is that periodic (without giving grades) evaluations would be helpful to see were we stand. It would also be nice to have a bulletinboard page where we can post questions and have you post the answers This would extend the lecture beyond the scheduled time. Almost like a technical support bulletinboard.
As a positive note I like to say that I have so far learned a great deal about creation on the Internet. This class has turned me form a passive netizens to an active participant. This class inspired me to learn JAVA to incorporate small applets on homepages.
