What are Web search engines?

Web Serch engines are what I use to find things on the web. When I have no clue what the address to the place is. They are these lists of sites that have been indexed by these robots that go around and look at peoples home pages. These guys are a must tool for anyone that wants to surf the web and not get lost in the process with this that they don't want. This will help narrow down what you are looking for.

Using search engines for the first time.

The web can be a really big place. I was trying to get around in it by just using the URLs, and I got really lost. Then I got a brainstorm, why not use the search engines to make finding things easier. The button for the search engines is on the bottom of the top tool bar it says "net search" click on it and see what happens.
I found out the search engines were really easy to use, all you need to do is type in what you want infromation on and click on the button to start the search and it comes up with a list of websites that it thinks fits what you wanted. Some of them will give percentages of how well the sites match the search that you put in.
From there its a snap all you need to do is click on the one that you want, or think will match and your there. Don't forget to bookmark the ones that you like so you can go back.

A little advice

What I have found is that you can get side tracked very easily. Be perpared to make sure that you stick to the topic at hand. I find myself thinking that it would be fun to see varies websites on a topic, and then half an hour has gone by. Yet, getting side tracked can be fun!!!! It can also be vary educational in finding out about the subject that you are studying.

Reynilda Cortezalso found that the search engines could be easy to uses and user friendly with the way that they are designed.
Beverly Diaz, like me, had a hard time picking what she wanted after the choices came up on the screen. It seems to be that some of the people might have had problems figuing out what to search for, but they had no problem using the web search engines.

Lycos

To start a search using this engine is really rather simple. When you get to the home page you type in the word or words that you are interseted in the text box and click on the button that says "Go Get It" and the search engine will look it up. You can also customize your search to narrow down your search. If you want help in know what to do all you have to do is click the help buttom and it will tel you all you need to know.

Search Engines

I learned how to use the search engines and how they work when I do a search. I also learned that it is best to look things up in more then one search engine to get the best results. also if you don't see what yo want in the frist ten idems there are more just keep in mind the the percentage goes down as you go down the list.

The Web

I learned that it is a lot bigger then I ever thought that it was. Also, that it is a lot harder to make a homepage then it is to do just a reguler report. But what you get out of the process is more knowagle then I ever would have thought I could get about on subject.

My Online Personality

I am a lot more pressed for time so I tend not to spend a lot of time at any one page. Although I like to surf around and see what I can find, if the page does not grab my attention I leave. I guess that I am not like a lot of other people, I like to look at icons and I think that they are really cute, so I try to put them on my page to make it simple and cute. Another thing that I don't spend a lot of time on is reading text. It is kind of like judging a book by its cover they say not to do it but eveyone dose.
