What is Cyber-Psychology?

Cyber-psychology is the study of people's behavior in cyber-space. Cyber-space is an environment created when you enter the internet. Therefore, cyber-psychology would be the study of a person's personality while he/she is part of the cyber-space world. Cyber-psychology looks at the change in a person's normal behavior once this person gets online and starts communication via internet. But alot of times, people find their online personality to be similar to that of their natural personality. While on the computer people are able to go to different pages of interest and communicate with others who share that same interest. People accessible by the internet can be located anywhere on this earth. You can talk to a person in China or any overseas country. These people do not know who you are and you can be a new person while communicating with them. Cyber-psychology seeks to understand people's change of character once online.

What are its principles?

I think that the underlying principle of cyberpsychology is to evaluate and undeerstand the psychological aspect of cyberspace, to see how the cyberspace community affects the human mind and it's present characteristics. Every characteristic of the human mind is expected to show as a property of the cyberspace world. Cyberpsychology recognizes cyberspace to be just like the mind and it can manipulate as well as guide. Cyberpsychology deals trying to understand the effect of the cyberspace world on human minds.

Who would be interested in it?

I feel that it would be safe to say that anyone would be interested in the Internet. I say this for the reason that that the Internet is so vastly structured that it accomadates the interests of almost any kind of personality.

What are its directions and topics?
Just like psychology has a wide range of fields, so does cyberpsychology. Cyberpsychology gears toward looking at individual as well as relationships through the Internet. It can also serve to understand better the cyberspace community as a whole. Cyberspychology directs it's attention to helping people understand their own present personality so that their online personality and traits will be more understanable and explainable.

What is virtual reality?

Virtual reality is "almost real",but not quite. Virtual reality is the attempt to create what looks like a real 3D world when looking into a 2D screen or monitor. It is what some people would call fabricated reality or reality simulated on the computer. But it's just simply creating what seems like a real world.

What is the relationship between cyberspace and the mind?

The relationship between cyberspace and the mind is probably the most vital source for the creation of the cyberspace community we have now. It was the mind that created cyberspace and in return, cyberspace pleases the mind. And now, in an extent, the mind depends on cyberspace to help it expand.

What is the significance of clicking on a link?

To answer this question, we must first look at what the spirit means to us, as humans. To me, the spirit gives a person life. Without our spirit, we wouldn't be able to do anything or go anywhere. We would be dead. Clicking, in the cyberspace world, would serve the same functions as the spirit would a person. Clicking gives life to your cyberspace environment and moves you from one place to another. Once on the internet, a person has to click in order to expand his mind and thoughts. If one chooses not to click, for some reason, that person is limp in the cyperspace world.
