Passage #4

"The results indicated that as the child grows older, he is more likely to understand the portrayed motives and consequences, but such increased understanding does not seem to modify his postviewing aggressive behavior."

The ennead box it fits into: "Low-Affective"

Affective Cognitive Sensorimotor
Spiritual Self I want to be open minded and I hope that I can be like this in dealing with others. These results are just theoretical. They are not facts. I assume that the results may not always be the same, and that what this hypothesis suggests may have just occured by chance.
Reflective Self I want to be able to feel that people are naturally good, and will do what they feel is right for all concerned. People usually do not do things that they do not agree with, but sometimes they do for certain reasons they may see as being valid. For example, in order to achieve some kind of gain for themselves. It seems to me that if someone is old enough to understand a wrong motive or bad consequence of an aggressive act, that he would logically refrain from postviewing aggression.
Automatic Self I want to be open-minded to new ideas and different ways of thinking. I also want to be able to decipher the true from the false and the good from the bad. This passage is suggesting something that contradicts with my personal experiences. Why doesn't this type of viewing eliminate or downgrade postviewing aggressive behavior? It does for me.
