B. MICRODESCRIPTIONS OF SENSORY OBSERVATIONS

Aches and Pains
Stretching and Exercises
Blushing
Retinal Sensations
Appetite and Cooking
Energy Level
Smells and Odors

(i) Aches and Pains
"Whenever I sit down, climb steps, or anything that requires my knee to bend I feel a pain on my knee cap. The pain is just centered on one point in my knee, right where the bone is. The pain feels sharp and sensitive. As I stand up I can feel the pain slowly diminishing.

(ii) Stretching and Exercises
"I woke-up this morning feeling so tired and lazy. Suddenly I hear some music on the radio that makes me feel like doing some exercises so I lay flat on my bed with my arms stretched above my head and my toes pointing to the end of the bed. Then I keep on stretching for a couple of minutes and then return to my natural position. After I felt so good that I had an easier time getting out of bed."

(iii) Blushing
"As I walked to one of my classes I saw a girl that looks just like my girlfriend Sandy. But I couldn't really get a good look at her from the distance of where I was and also because I wasn't wearing my glasses. As I approached her closer I began to feel definite that it was Sandy. I called out her name, she looks up, and I find that it wasn't Sandy after all. I smiled at the unfamiliar girl embarrassedly and then said that I'm sorry because I had mistakened her for someone else. The girl looking at me in a strange way, smiles and said that it was alright. I continue walking to my class feeling a little warm on my face and neck, but also hoping that I won't run into this girl again."

(iv) Retinal Sensations and Etc.
"As I was walking to work I noticed a beautiful fern plant that I had never seen before. It was a tiny plant with small and soft leaves. It had a dark green color which added to its healthy look."

(v) Appetite and Cooking
"As I walk around the market deciding what to eat for dinner, I notice how fresh and green the vegetables look and decide that I want to make a vegetable dish so I picked up some celery, maui onion, and bell peppers. When I reached home I began chopping the vegetables and a little meat. I add the meat first to the pan, then all the vegetables and simmered it for about ten minutes. Looking at it makes my mouth water and my stomach hungrier."

(vi) Energy Level
"After having a pretty busy day I finally got to taking a shower. Having the water run down on my head and body really makes me feel real good now. I feel like I can spend a couple more hours before I sleep doing some more studying then watching some late shows on t.v. I feel so awake and fresh to do just about anything."

(vii) Smells and Odors
"As I enter my boyfriend's car, I wrinkle my nose because a strong scent is airing around the car. I wonder to myself that it can't be because the car isn't running. He looks at me and ask, "what's wrong," and I said, "oh, nothing," thinking that it must be my nose if he can't smell it also. I roll down my window and notice that the smell slowly disappears. I then realized that my boyfriend had just repainted some parts of his car and it was leaving a strong odor still yet."
