My
Reaction to Cyberspace
Those icons above can basically describe my first reaction to the vast
world of cyberspace. The title of this icon is called "Stressed." The
natural reaction to anything that you won't, can't, or just don't have
the time to understand, is stress. However, after hours of practice and
perseverence has paid off for me as I conquer my fear of the virtual world
of cyberspace.
As for being in a generational cyber community with my fellow classmates,
that's a totally different experience. Instead of starting from scratch
each semester and not knowing anything about the class, we actually read
what the previous generations have done and actually continue where they
left off! That is such a breakthrough in the educational curriculum this
student has ever seen.
Looking at other classes and how they are setup, the professors tend to
only change their quizzes and exams so that his/her students can't cheat
from the previous classes. This setup only allows for the professor to
share his knowledge with hardly any feedback from the students. Professor
James on the other hand has the opportunity not only to guide his students
throughout the semester, he also has the opportunity to interact with his
students and learn from us bright and upcoming psychologists. So in turn
for his tutorship, he also learns from his disciples.
The idea of being in a generational curriculum makes me feel like I'm in a
classroom that will never die. Also, being on the everchanging wings of
technology, our recorded knowledge throughout the years can only encourage
others to do the same.
